Job Summary
      The primary responsibility of this role is to execute mechanical design tasks on complex electro-mechanical products developed and manufactured by Kodak. The role is part of a team located in Shanghai that reports to a technical leader located in Canada. It includes responsibility for machine design projects from concept through successful field operation.
     
Responsibilities:

A.       Initiate innovative ideas for both new products and improvements on existing products.    

B.       Manage assigned projects through completion, including resolution of manufacturing and field issues to ensure that finished product meets customer needs.    

C.       Take ideas from the concept to complete models with detailed BOM and complete drawing packages made ready for manufacturing.    

D.       Lead design reviews with representatives from production and service to collect input on your designs and take appropriate actions.    

E.       Carry out the review for DFM, track the prototypes preparation. Create quality plan in 6 sigma approach for quality team as a guideline to control the quality.    

F.       Follow established safety standards for the design, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance and safeguarding of automated machinery. Communicate with the product safety and compliance engineer in Canada to understand requirements and obtain approval on designs.    

G.       Document critical assembly procedures. Guide & train manufacturing engineers to assemble your designs for production. Design assembly fixtures and assist production for smooth transition to production and follow-up on any issues identified during production.    

H.       Define and execute changes following the engineering change control process.

 Requirements

      1. BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with related product design experience in similar industries.
      2. Excellent mechanical aptitude with good understanding of machine design, pneumatics, metal fabrication finishing and motion control.
      3. Be familiar with general material properties, such as steels, alloys, plastic and rubber.    

      4. Good working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack.
      5. Proficient in SolidWorks & EPDM.
      6. Proficient in Microsoft® Office® suite.
      7. Excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functional areas to include customers and suppliers
      8. Work independently, respond to changing priorities, meet multiple commitments, schedules and deadlines.
