The company, located in Shanghai, is a subsidiary of MDC Max Daetwyler AG, which is headquartered in Switzerland and operating worldwide with over 500 employees.
MDC is one of the world's largest suppliers of doctor blades for gravure and flexo printing as well as special applications.
Our operations in Shanghai are currently focused on production, sales and support of doctor blades in China where we are one of the market leaders.
In addition we are also providing sourcing services both within MDC and for third parties.

In order to improve our sourcing capabilities we are looking for a

Junior Purchasing Specialist

Basic Function:
Be responsible for the local sourcing of various goods, look after IT system and carry out certain administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:
? Purchasing of all items for internal general use and items sold to group companies
? Liaise with company-internal and external customers to specify / verify requested goods
? Translate specifications, quotations and other related documents from English to Chinese and vice versa
? Find local manufacturers / suppliers for various goods according to specification
? Arrange samples, negotiate prices, terms and conditions, ensure quality standards
? Keep close relationship with both suppliers and customers during the purchasing process and beyond to achieve customers satisfaction
? Monitor IT system, carry out certain IT system administration tasks, contact to IT contractor
? Organize and execute various administrative tasks according to business needs
? Carry out special projects as assigned by GM

Education:
? College Degree or above in engineering

Experience:
? More than 2 years experience in similar position, preferably in Wholly Foreign Owned company or Joint Venture company
? Working experience with foreigners (westerners), confident in English communication

Specific Skills:
? Oral and written fluency in English (CET-6)
? Good perception, quick learner
? Flexible and adaptive
? Interest and flair for IT systems (HW & SW)
? MS Office software (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
? Excellent verbal and written communication in both Chinese and English
? Prioritization and organizational skills
? Capable to deliver under pressure (especially when facing unexpected situations)
? Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and poise
