职位描述

Responsible to manage people, project activities and priorities of the China Supplier Development Engineers (SDE) and Managers to support Chassis (Brakes/Steering) Product Lines in China as well as assist with other Global Product Line needs.

Major Responsibilities:
List major areas of responsibilities and accountabilities of the position. Where appropriate, include quantifiable data; i.e., budget dollars.
  1. Think / Act Strategically-Uses analytical smarts along with creative thinking for supplier development plans to prevent problems and as needed to solve problems. He/she sees the big picture in understanding and considering customers requirements, TRW business needs and supplier situations when making plans / decisions.
  1. Builds Organizational Capability-Has the ability to assess supplier needs / weaknesses not only for targeted suppliers, but also individual SDEs to leverage their learning curves along side the suppliers'. Raises the supplier's performance bar by creating, promoting and sustaining a performance culture.

  1. Get Results-Delivers on-time, on-quality performance at every stage from prototype samples to OTS samples through the APQP phases by the completion of a comprehensive supplier development approach customized for each supplier's deficiencies followed by effective deployment of the "plan".
  1. Delivered Metrics-Makes SDE regional / global metric targets for assigned suppliers and provides SDEs the support as required to assist in hitting their targeted SDE regional / global metrics.

  1. Individual will also be expected to embrace and drive continuous improvement and standardization of work within their own organization and within the Global SDE community.

  1. Success will be contingent on effective leadership and mentoring of SDEs, the ability to understand and improve supplier capabilities, and effective interaction with the TRW development communities.

  1. Keys for this position are to integrate Supplier Development on a country (China) basis and ensure integration on a global basis. Must instill common practices and work on a regional basis and adopt Global process and procedure as required.

  1. Will become and integral part of the Global SDE team. Will ensure strategy to implement PTS in the region and to ensure integration of JV's into Regional responsibilities. Will participate in Regional Purchasing Staff, with Product Line and Commodity, and will ensure that supplier development strategies align with commodity and sourcing strategies.

  1. Will align closely to AP-SQA and Plant-SQA to ensure communication for supplier improvement actions and program timing.


Key Competencies:
Critical skills, abilities and characteristics necessary to perform job responsibilities.

1. Experienced with manufacturing processes and production environments.

2. Understands interpretation and application of global quality standards (ISO-9001 & TS-19649). Ability to
conduct supplier assessments, complete and analyze APQP/PPAP/Capability data.

3. Effective in managing and working with a global team.

4. Knowledge and appilcation of Value Engineering, Lean and Six Sigma is a plus.

5. Country and some regional/international travel required-approximately 30%.

6. Candidate must be highly motivated, able to multi-task, set priorities and goal oriented.

Education and Experience:

Educational:

1. Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering field
2. 10-15 years minimum experience in a quality or manufacturing related background
3. 5 years in a complex product development environment (automotive supplier/OEM preferred)
4. TRW product/process-like experience

Experience:

1. Previous group leader/supervision experience required (2 years minimum, 5 desirable).
2. ASQC Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQA) a plus.
3. ISO-9000/TS16949 Lead Assessor training.
4. Fluent in conversational and written English.
