Basic Functions:
Support Cost Improvement Process department in providing an effective product engineering service. Work with key teams involved in CIP including key suppliers as well as internal JCPenney associates with the objective of meeting key goals as defined from time to time.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Analyze Cost Sheets for every new style/ development and provide inputs to merchandising teams as required
2. Assess new styles/ developments and estimate raw material consumptions. Provide inputs to merchandising team as required
3. Identify manufacturing processes, prepare/ validate operational break downs, calculate time standards and providing inputs for calculating labor/ operational costs
4. Prepare internal database of operations related to different product categories
5. Work with Design team to identify opportunities for process simplification
6. Work with suppliers to prepare/ validate the following:
Improving operational efficiencies on the shop floor - involves audits, process mapping, analysis and bringing in improvements. Designing and implementing processes and systems
Validate production plans provided by vendors
Training supplier teams on latest methodologies/ concepts
Assessing costs and identifying areas of improvement

Knowledge & Skills:
Education: Manufacturing Technology degree holder from a recognized university and/ or Industrial Engineering/ Production Engineering degree
Experience : Minimum of 6 - 7 years in the soft home and hard home industry with exposure to product costing and industrial engineering
Specialize : Sound Communication Skills, Analytical Skills, Attention to Detail, Team Orientation
