职位描述

Main Responsibilities
(LEADERSHIP) Manage an organization of supervising engineers, engineers and technicians. Coach, Mentor, and otherwise provide guidance to these associates on an ongoing basis and through leveraging the TMP process. Indirectly provide leadership to the broader Timken team when appropriate.
(DEVELOPMENT) Continue to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to successfully perform the responsibilities of your job, within yourself and your team. Spread your knowledge and skills as a normal part of your job to develop others and the organization as a whole.
(METRICS) Drive business performance & priorities via metrics. Metric categories are:
Dual Ownership of Mfg metrics with the Operations Manager. Contribute to improving performance and providing corrective actions.
Engineering Measures for the plant: e.g. - New Part Introduction timeliness & accuracy.
Project Measures: Measure to assure effectiveness during and after completion.
(PROJECTS) Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities for the improvement of quality, throughput, machine efficiency, labor productivity, cost, etc. Assure projects are in alignment with the goals of the organization and are well managed. Utilize fact based analysis, data mining, and lean-6-sigma skills to achieve this. Project work also includes capacity management, capacity expansion, and other investments as required by the business.
(TEAMWORK) Operate in a team fashion, gaining the input and support of other stake-holders. Facilitate meetings, draw others into the process, and include all shifts when appropriate. Gain support from, and provide support to manufacturing and other support functions. Draw on talent from within the broader Timken Company, not just from within mfg technology team.
(CONSISTENCY/CONFORMANCE) Assure mfg and engineering processes are documented and understood to provide standard and consistent application of work methods and procedures (eg - operating manuals, training material, PM procedures, engineering procedures). Interact with operations and quality personal to assure conformance to all ISO requirements. Assure all processes are being performed are within Timken and governmental policies, specifications, regulations, and laws. Keep company product and process information confidential and secure.
(SUPPORT) Assist operations personnel with daily process & product problem solving. Strive to identify and correct the root cause of such problems instead of continuing to address the reoccurring issue. Assist other Timken plants/businesses as requested by your manager.
(BENCHMARKING) Benchmark practices and performances with other manufacturing units, suppliers, and other sources. Strive to identify and implement "best practices" within our facility.
(STRATEGY) Develop medium to long term engineering/production strategies in cooperation with the corporate teams from manufacturing advancement, product management, and senior leadership. Develop internal strategies / direction and be sure alignment of your team members to the goals or the broader organization.

Essential Education & Experience
BS/MS degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering and Economics / Statistics / Operations Research / Operations Management education
Broad background in manufacturing / manufacturing engineering (specific areas of interest are machining/turning, carburizing and hardening, finish grinding).
Knowledge & skill of Information Technology as it relates to: storage of engineering data, automation of engineering work streams (knowledge based engineering), integration of data from various sources, conceive and direct creation of IT solutions to simplify and improve work.
Exposure and understanding of lean manufacturing concepts (such flow, structured inventory/kanbans, error proofing, kaizen events, etc.)
Demonstration of ability to work and communicate within a team environment, both as a leader and as a participant. Experience working with people of various levels and backgrounds.
Understanding of engineering economics (calculation of investment payback and return on Investment for proposed improvement projects). Ability to track project financial performance.
Proficient in both the spoken and written English language.
Managing and working with a diverse team in an environment of rapid growth
Ability to effectively implement change
At least 10 years Mfg Management, Mfg Engineering experience.
