Job Duties
- Responsible for conducting fabric mill audit, fabric inspection and tests relative to innovative fibres, additives and treatments to improve performance of textiles. To assess whether the fabrics are within the capabilities of machinery, costings and the capabilities of the fabric.
- Carries out quality control work or PP meeting to ensure the end product performs to specifications.
- Familiar with various standard textile tests, coordination of tests, and organizing test data.
- Work on the development of fabrics, improve quality and fit for purpose, and liaise with those involved in the bulk manufacturing process. Fabric Technologists work with a wide range of fabrics, including synthetic and natural textiles.
- Coach/Monitor KAS garment supplier to enhance the in-house fabric inspection quality system & in-house testing process.
- Provide supports and assistance to factories for production process improvement / trouble shooting from development stage to post production stage for fabric quality/colour issues.
- Experience fabric technical solutions for complex problems and delivering them to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to become a trusted advisor by building and managing relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other industry professionals.

Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Has work experience with organizations responsible for functions of clothing, garments and textiles;
- identifying the latest fabric trends, developments and innovations;
- overseeing fabric production processes; ensuring quality in areas such as strength, durability, colourfastness and water;
- advising colleagues on technical aspects of the business; sourcing fabrics and accessories;
- undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final product;
- responding to product queries from customers.
