Key Tasks
1.Optimisation & Cost Control of specialised logistics processes
- Actively participate and support the implementation and ongoing improvement of lean principles within the Asian facilities
- Manage the lead time optimisation activities across the supply chain
- Manage the impact of freight cost to the business on new model launches and changes of supplier
- Maintain the Asian matrix to help monitor cost control
- Manage the cost of packaging for new programs using the Asian PFEP
- Maintain an understanding of global import and export tariffs and be aware of any new FTA’s established (including duty, tax, VAT and clearance fees)
- Develop and deliver optimization strategy for key suppliers inclusive of direct engagement in conjunction with regional teams
- Develop and implement optimized freight model – cost, ongoing ‘real-time’ measurement & visibility
- Provide process leadership to optimization initiatives through cost reduction, supply chain simplification, program management and tracking
- Achieve business improvement across the business, whilst maintaining an optimum balance between the minimisation of internal cost and the maximization of profitability
2. Operational Logistics support
- Advanced and new program support for all Logistics related activities
- Support the Asian operational MP&L groups in the resolution of material and packaging supply issues
- Support local MP&L teams on SCPL Audit score to be greater than 85A
- Act as a trusted advisor and business partner
3.Materials & Packaging design, development & standardization
- Create standard and communicate to MP&L team for the standard working procedure, new packaging concept, loading design.
- Manage team packaging concept and design
- Manage team material flow concept and design
4.Design and Establishment of Logistics Operations
- Scope logistics & transport requirements in alignment with operating strategy and business needs
- Handover of Supply chain management to country teams according to project plan
- Ongoing advisory role in country management supply chain and logistics
- Continuous process improvement
5.Fast response to new business / information requests
- Present accurate information on new or existing business in regards to Futuris Logistics costs (packaging, labour, warehousing, etc)
- Maintain the Asian PFEP database to facilitate a central repository of valued and important logistical data
- Support and present on time and accurate data into new business quotations
6.Customer and Supplier Relationship Management
- As required act as a liaison with customers and suppliers to maintain effective supply and reconcile any production materials issues regarding schedules as required
- For international supply chains, support global facilities in a non-standard supply situation
7.People Management & Development
- Develop clear goals and objectives for direct reports.
- Coordinate the team to complete work on time to expectation.
- Oversee resource management of team.
- Manage an effective performance management process within function.
- Mentoring and coaching of people & Identification and develop talent for succession.
- Communicate direction, progress against plan, initiatives, changes and successes.
- Support the development of employee welfare.
- Build & maintain working relationships at all levels to ensure effective relations.
- Foster a productive and positive working culture.
- Ensure adequate training plans and monitor skill gaps.
- Provide employees with appropriate guidance into new roles.
8.Reporting
- Completion of monthly report, PFEP status, new projects
- Identification of trends in data and put into place plans to rectify issues.
- Attendance at program meeting to report on supply chain status & escalate open issues
- Start-up generic reports for the introduction of new programs
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 5 - 7 years proven experiences in a similar role within a high volume manufacturing environment (Process Engineering / Materials Flow / Time & Motion)
- Understanding of lean concepts and proven experience in the application thereof
- Experience with global FTA agreements
- Proven customer service orientation
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
- Good supply chain, planning and organizing skills with an orientation towards details
- Initiative and be proactive in their approach
- Project management experience on small to medium projects
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of MS Office suite to intermediate level
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
- Fluent in English & Chinese both writing and speaking
- Understanding and appreciation of lean principles
- Well-developed analytical skills, with a high attention to detail
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
