Assistant Editor, eCommerce – Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The eCommerce Assistant Editor is an integral member of the Gap Inc. China eCommerce team, which runs a full online adult and kids/baby apparel business on official sites and third party channels such as Tmall. This person will be responsible for overall site content including creative, product and marketing content for Old Navy brand.

S/he will work with both in-house editors and contract web designers. In addition, s/he will work with external partners such as copywriters, photographers to deliver brand and product messages to customers.

This person must be a strategic, initiative-taking individual with great visual and verbal communication skills, who is passionate about Fashion and eCommerce. In addition, s/he must also be very organized and can execute projects under tight deadlines.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Create editorial brief on site layout and key messages, develop overall site copy that clearly communicates product and marketing messages and also support merchandising objectives for Old Navy brand.
? Ensure that the story/product message reflects current trends in the marketplace and meets customers’ needs to drive business, promote sales increase.
? Understand the product and marketing focuses from Old Navy global and local merchandising and marketing teams, and appropriately translate that to site delivery.
? Go through and learn from oldnavy.com, draw up the standards for the overall site content, and supervise copywriters to create product copy that clearly and accurately communicates product information and meet customers’ online shopping needs.
? Work with Old Navy Marketing team to create marketing campaigns and promotion creative contents.
? Provide creative ideas and suggestions on advertising and email database marketing contents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

? B.A. in Communications, Chinese Language, Visual Merchandising, Fashion related field
? 1- 2 years experience in creative or editorial field. Fashion Editor/Website and eCommerce background a huge plus
? Familiar with fashion industry, fashion trends, fine visual taste and familiar with eCommerce
? Bi-lingual: Chinese and English (Strong mastery of Chinese language a must)
? Entrepreneurial, takes initiative, comfortable with ambiguous environments
? Detail-oriented, organized and stable
? Great communications skills, teamwork skills and supervisory experience 举报 分享
