SENIOR KNITWEAR DESIGNER JOB DESCRIPTION


OVERVIEW

The Senior Knitwear Designer is responsible to design and develop the in-house Studio DZ Stitch Collection and the Studio DZ Women's Collection, a contemporary knitwear line that captures seasonal trends and innovation. The collection serves as an important source of inspiration for our clients and to reflect the vision and identity of the company. The Designer will also work on specific development for assigned accounts. He or she will report to the Shanghai Design Director.


SPECIFIC TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES

1- work with design director to identify and define seasonal trends in yarns, silhouettes and stitches for the collection

2- create trend boards, design and sketch the collection independently

3- manage the development process, work with merchandiser and design team to ensure the collection is delivered on time

4- work with design director and design team to develop Studio Stitch Collection

5- prepare and set up presentation for meetings; trend board, sample collection presentation to customers

6- work closely with merchandiser to research and develop products for assigned accounts

7- travel within China, to Asia and USA for meetings and shopping

8- create trade show and shopping report


SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

1- must have drive, enthusiasm, personal charisma and a very strong passion for design

2- outstanding skill in trend forecasting and ability to interpret trends through relevant products

3- excellent sense of color and style

4- must have good knowledge of knitting machinery, stitches and technical terminology

5- must be a team player having collaborative approach to interactions across all departments and between offices

6- forward thinking, flexible and be able to work on their own initiative and under pressure

7- Strong organizational skills

8- Excellent skills in Illustrator, Photoshop


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
