Within the China engine product engineering team, we search for a figure of a senior engine application engineer to work on industrial diesel engines installed both on on-road commercial vehicle (HD and LD), and on off-road products (tractor, combine, sugar cane harvester, construction equipment and power generators).
The figure should deal with activities on on-road and off-road machines, to coordinate the entire application development process from the engine customization at engine test bench / HiL (mainly executed in headquarter in Italy/Switzerland) till its installation on customer’s machines and related functional and fleet validation: main interface of application role with headquarter teams.
Activities on machines included functional and fleet monitoring should be executed directly in China, with support / relationship with Headquarter in Turin.
Chinese Application team growth in terms of technical and project coordination competence is additional and important task.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR APPLICATION PROJECT LEADER (applicable for projects entirely managed by Chinese team)
? Main reference contact to PE headquarter development team, Integration Mng. and supplier(s)
? Evaluate complete application cost/effort, including calibration development, vehicle validation and services support (HiL, fleet, etc...)
? Project Planning: calibration development contents vs. project milestones included resourcing availabilities (bench, vehicle, HiL, fleet), functional / fleet validation (included Bosch and external supplier activities), dataset releases vs. SW versions
? Coordination of Application resources (internal/external) to fulfill all the project milestones and targets
? Application project status evolution tracking and reporting: calibration development contents vs. dataset releases, validation vs. QGs, fleet status
? Troubleshooting coordination for application specific issues, by driving complete problem solving process
? Local application team growth: increase technical and managerial competences of the local young team

? Application Level III, Level IV-application matrix (incl. project requirements docs TBD)
? Application Reviews official registrations (QG), Application Check-list and Sign-Off
? Application project status reports
? Application project evaluation

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR ACTIVITIES ON MACHINE (all projects):
? Execution of all machine validation activities (both installation and functional tests) and related reporting, according to application plan; in particular full execution of Application check-list for sign-off
? First troubleshooting of machine specific application issues: first contact for customer, first data analysis to address issue to specific engineering areas
? Vehicle calibration support: validate calibration proposals on machine and results assessment vs. customer target w/ calibration development team
? Define and maintain updated procedures for machine validation activities
? Support machine data collection and provision to engineering development activities (components, SW, calibration)

? First level analysis for troubleshooting
? Vehicle test procedures (installation and functional check)
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR FLEET MONITORING (all projects):
? Fleet Monitoring management (whole process: from the instrument configuration for data collection to the report sharing with customer)
? Data Management (Data life cycle)
? 1° Level Data Analysis (analysis agreed with FPTi customers)
? Support to other teams for 2° level data analysis
? Organize fleet status meetings with FPTi customers to share and discuss analysis results
SPECIFIC DELIVERABLES FOR FLEET MONITORING
? FTT reports
? 1° Level data analysis reports (punctual, statistical and aggregate analysis)
? Fleet Data KPI

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), internal combustion engine as preferable; bachelor degree in electronic or automotive engineering as alternative
? Good knowledge of electronic engines and ATS technologies: EGR/DPF and SCR highly preferred
? Knowledge of electronic engines and SW/calibration strategies for ATS control: direct experience with Bosch control systems preferred
? More than 7 years’ experience in diesel engine development and application, emission and industrial machines: activities on local emission limits (GBV, GBVI, etc.…) highly preferred
? Direct experience in engine test bench activities with electronic engine calibration is considered as highly preferable
? Fluent English in both written and spoken
? Good communication and negotiation skills
? Project management skill
? Team work member, proactive and motive working attitude
