DSM Engineering Plastics
DEP is developing 4 product lines (Stanyl, Akulon,) on a global perspective. The product lines are generating existing and new business via 3 regions: Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. DEP launches products for 4 segments: Automotive, E&E, General Industries, Extrusions Packaging.
DEP is developing 6 product lines of which Stanyl, Akulon, on a global perspective and Xantar, Yparex, on a regional perspective. The product lines are generating existing and new business via 3 regions: Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. DEP launches products for 4 segments: Automotive, E&E, General Industries, Extrusions Packaging.
The products are very technical with a broad range of specifications and potential application area’s. In most cases they are typical specialties, replacing existing applications of competitors and/or become new applications. Both innovation of product and applications is crucial to become and stay key supplier. Cycle times vary from 6 months to 3 years.
The markets in which DEP operates are very dynamic with customers who use complex value chains and focus more and more on global approach. Professionals of DEP intercept on technology, application and total cost of semi and/or end product.
To operate in this field they have to manage many interrelations in order to achieve new and lasting customer satisfaction and business growth. Business Intelligence an innovation power is crucial to stay ahead of competitors and to keep the new development funnel loaded.
The organization is a matrix with a product line structure and a regional structure. The Business Unit has a regional responsibility (BUD).
The Position
The Title: West Coast Account Manager, Engineering Plastics
Reporting to: Senior Account Manager, Engineering Plastics
Purpose of the position
? To achieve the agreed annual sales/accounts objectives as defined by Management team.
? To find a good team-work account manager, who can work independently and keep passion to grow assigned task.
The Challenge
1. Work with Senior Account Manager to follow up assigned task closely.
2. Establish/Maintain customer relationship and figure out new potential business opportunity. (Through PTO tools: CRM, Account plan, Customer relationship map..etc)
3. Leverage and coordinate with Internal Operational team, Supply Chain team, AD/TS team ad
R&T team for delivery of goods, lead time preparation, and new projects development to
Commercialization in Asian region.
4. Engage all stakeholders proactively for customer complaint handling and response
Settlement with customers.
5. Monitor customer financial index performance, Ex: Credit limits, payment term, account
receivable and prevent potential bad debts.
6. Execute sales account plans, penetrate in various product line strategies and segment sales
plan. To reach annual sales target and account objectives.
7. Joint development in new opportunity through assigned task in new applications among
existing (and new) customers.
8. Teamwork smoothly (with opened mind set) with cross regional (USA, Shanghai, Shenzhen
And Taiwan) colleagues to achieve success of opportunity.
9. Internal: USA West Coast sales colleagues, USA West Coast AD&TS colleagues, Europe R&T,
China R&T, China AD & TS team, China Operational team and Supply Chain team
10. External: Asian molders. OEM customers in Asian region.
The ideal
1. Bachelor degree, material or mechanical education background is preferred.
2. Minimum5 year hands-on experience in account management or related working experience in a multinational company.
3. Good understanding and experience Asian region responsibility in Global OEM business model
4. Mature business acumen understanding and knowledge
5. Good communication and coordination skill.
6. Ability to manage different customers and ability in problem-solving and negotiation skills
7. Result-driven orientation personality
8. Fluent in both spoken and written English
9. Good Microsoft software-Excel, Words, PowerPoint capability
