职位描述：

Summary of the Position:

This is a leadership position in which the incumbent is responsible managing technical staff in 1) the development and validation of test methods to ensure the integrity and safety of food ingredients, 2) and supporting technical capacity building and collaborations with external stakeholders in the Asia Pacific region to help establish USP as a food safety and integrity leader globally.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement strategies and technical work plans subject to USP’s corporate food program unit leadership strategic plans and guidance.

· Provide scientific and professional leadership to scientists working in the areas of food ingredient testing standards, in accordance with established SOPs, business practices and procedures

· Lead and support food safety and integrity technical outreach and external technical collaborations in Asia Pacific region.

· Support content development (products, services) and execution for USP’s food safety and integrity solutions in Asia Pacific region.

· Monitor quality and progress of collaborative studies for standard setting related to food ingredients.

· Manage and tracks department day-to-day activities, workload, deliverables and output; provides updates to management.

· Establish and monitors priorities consistent with the organization’s priorities.

· Develop annual budgets, projects resources, capital, personnel needs for the organization, and operation and maintenance of Global center of excellence for food in coordination with USP’s corporate food program unit leadership.

· Coordinate with HR to recruit laboratory personnel to ensure full staffing and performance.

· Identify the training needs of the team to ensure productivity and quality of work.

· Implement laboratory budget, including expenses for personnel, travel, supplies, and capital expenditure.

· Responsible for preparation/review and implementation of SOPs, protocols, reports, etc.

· Work closely with other laboratories on resource sharing and adjustment as needed.

· Ensure laboratory safety and compliance. Frequently monitor and report related activities, events and issues where appropriate.

· Collaborate with USP corporate and global sites staff in various technical, SMPO, and program unit teams and functions.

· Represent USP at conference and trade shows and develop and deliver on technical posters, talks, etc.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or allied field with a minimum of 8 years. Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising, leading teams, training, or mentoring of other staff members. Minimum of 5 years working in multinational food organization in R&D, quality, safety or regulatory role. Exceptional knowledge of food ingredient testing, food industry, food quality and safety systems, international food laws and regulations. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted. Prior experience in food testing standard development, testing, or production is a plus. Experience with multivariate data analysis is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated technical leadership and people management skills essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, including ability to deliver presentations to external stakeholders and Senior Management. Demonstrated research, technical, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to synthesize technical scientific information. Proficient with testing involving analytical methods for raw materials. Proficient in related analytical analysis and instrumentation (HPLC, CE, NMR, ICP, AA, KF, UV, LC/MS, GC/MS). Ability to develop and implement training plans. Able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with changing deadlines and priorities. Demonstrated experience managing and participating in multiple projects. Able to drive the standards evaluation process with enthusiasm and consideration.
