Position Title: Plant Manager
Department/Location: Operations Management, Wuxi Primary Packaging

General Function:
The objective of this position is to manage, direct and control the manufacture of products at Wuxi Primary Packaging while achieving lowest cost of manufacturing and customer satisfaction with quality products and on-time delivery; to ensure continuous improvement of products and services; and to promote improved industrial, human and community relations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
30% Optimize production operations and processes by identifying opportunities for productivity improvements and waste reduction, and plan, develop; direct the implementation of such project while accomplishing quality, service and cost objectives of the business.
30% Direct the manufacturing with emphasis on sound safety practices, maximum people involvement, meeting production schedules, quality specifications and overall customer expectations at lowest possible cost.
25% Establish the right environment and organization by leading, selecting and building strong innovative manufacturing teams, who are change oriented and capable of planning and implementing programs that will dramatically improve manufacturing efficiencies and operations.
10% Plan and budget for the necessary capacity (including capital appropriation and expenditure) to meet annual and long-range production needs of the business.
5% Maintain good corporate citizen image and community relations by being an active part of the industrial community and encouraging staff to participate in community activities.

Knowledge/Education/Experience:
? B.S. in Engineering/Industrial Engineering and Management or other scientific education.
? At least 10 years related experience. Operation management experience in plastic or packaging industry is a plus.
? Equivalent combination of education and experience.
? In depth knowledge of the production processes and process technology.
? Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
? Solid management skills.


Problem Solving:
Under the direction of the VP of Operations, North America and Asia, this position works within a framework of established practices and precedents. The major challenge is to plan, manage and maintain an ongoing cost effective and responsive organization. He/She is accountable for efficient utilization of personnel, material usage and waste, control of variable manufacturing costs and overhead. The manufacturing plan evolves into specific departmental goals and objectives, which must be effectively communicated to all levels. Together with Engineering, he/she plans, evaluates, manages and implements process and procedural changes designed to improve productivity, capacity and overall efficiency. Quickly and effectively introduces new product developments and equipment developed by the technical departments into the manufacturing process.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 9 associates.
