PRIMARY FUNCTION
1.Assure Target supply chain is transparent and ethically delivers responsibly sourced owned brand products to Target’s Omni-channel Guests by proactively planning and managing environmental compliance to Target’s Standards of Vendor Engagement.
2. Achieves Target Sourcing Services (TSS) and Target financial plans by partnering with Headquarter (HQ) counterparts and fabric suppliers through strategic fabric planning and leveraging.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Environmental Sustainability
*Train and implement environmental programs, processes and expectations to business partners and internal teams
* Monitor and track NGO and government databases
* Collaborate and influence supplier participation in programs
* Manages completion of environmental self-assessments and third party verification with supply chain
* Integrates supplier environmental performance results into sourcing scorecards

2. Supply Chain Management
* Support new business partner onboarding process from Sustainability perspective
* Develop suppliers and elevate performance
* Lead the facilitation of issue resolution between cross functional teams, suppliers, garment vendor and third parties as needed
* Ensure suppliers have met all Target requirements

3. Business Management
* Ensures problems identified are resolved timely
* Support compliance with governmental requirements in factories
* Accept other tasks and projects as determined by leaders

4. Collaboration
* Actively provides market intelligence, regulatory and environmental policy updates within country

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree/diploma in Environmental Sustainability or equivalent work experience
* 5 years’ experience in in a related field
* Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability practices
* Knowledge of environmental regulations in China
* Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work independently, and under general direction
* Strong initiative: proactive and self-motivated
* Good negotiation, interpersonal and leadership skills
* Comfortable with ambiguity
* Team player
* Ability to establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams, suppliers and industry associations
* Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills
* Meeting management/facilitation skills
* Excellent communication skills in local and English language, both written and verbal
* Computer skill: familiar with Microsoft Windows and Office software applications

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience in environmental sustainability
* Past working experience or knowledge of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) and/or the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)
