Description
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible to ensure the quality of supplier audit, plastic parts, mechanical components, accessories, printed materials and to drive supplier continual improvements. The SQE will manage supplier products, process, and the quality control through data collection, analysis, and a corrective action implementation.
Responsibilities:
？ Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to supplier manufacturing processes.
？ Ensure mechanical components meet UEI specification and support IQC with timely issue resolution for nonconforming material.
？ Provides direction to supplier Manufacturing and QA to ensure their processes and production controls are appropriate and accurately measured. Manage corrective actions and process improvements throughout the supply chain.
？ Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
？ Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
？ Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
？ Strong but tactful leadership skills required to drive best supplier manufacturing practices, cost control.
？ Performs regular process audits on all key suppliers to ensure that the specified process instructions are being followed as required
？ Performs product quality inspections (FAI, OBAs) to assure consistency in the quality of the product made by suppliers
？ Leads vendor and supplier qualification efforts in order to assure consistent delivery of products to meet the business forecasts
？ Assist all manufacturers and strategic suppliers in resolving issues surrounding specifications, Process control, and procedures and works to address any CARs/SCARs
？ Works with the Engineering department on new and sustaining projects and provides DFM input into new tooling/ product designs.
？ Available to be on weekly calls in the evening with global teams and suppliers in other time zones
？ Ability to travel as needed, approximately 70%, sometimes on short notice
Requirements:
？ BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial Engineering
？ Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
？ 5+ years of experience with plastics, rubber, and tooling
？ Supplier process quality management experience.
