Responsibility Level:
Under general supervision, the qualified candidate evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering and technology principles and techniques to assigned business problems. The candidate will work independently on projects that have low to moderate impact on the business. The candidate ensures that results meet established needs, goals, and timelines.

Principal Duties:
The qualified candidate for this position will work within a team of developers on the YORKworks selection and rating software for YORK chiller products. The candidate will be responsible for additional applications and utilities required to support the YORKworks suite of software. Specific duties include:

1.Designs, develops, documents, and implements software solutions in accordance with project specifications, ensuring completion within the planned time constraint and meeting the established objectives for quality, reliability and performance. Uses judgment in suggesting adaptations or modifications where appropriate.
2.Analyzes the impact and feasibility of change requests on existing software and implements corrective actions. 3.Provides both technical and administrative documentation in a timely manner for developed software and design models.
4.Provides technical input, feedback, and consultation to other internal organizations involved in system design or implementation activities. Participate in technology transfer initiatives between IT departments, R&D, and Product Engineering.
5.Prepares data for product literature as requested.
6.Provides field support as needed.
7.Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

Requirements:
1.Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics discipline with strong Computer Science skills; or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science with strong engineering, scientific or mathematical background.
2.The candidate will usually have limited (less than one year) software development experience in C, C++, C# or related high-level language.
3.Proficiency with Windows operating systems and MS Office Suite programs.
4.Ability to understand technical material and model engineering concepts to accurately simulate equipment performance.
5.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with engineers, analysts, marketing personnel, designers, and drawing and software developers.
6.Ability to work independently with good organizational skills and the flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects with exceptional attention to detail.
7.High degree of interpersonal skills including both oral and written communication.
8.Ability to assimilate and implement new and emerging technologies.

The Ideal Candidate will also meet the following requirements:
1.Understanding of heat transfer principles.
2.Experience with software development in a procedural programming language such as FORTRAN.
3.Experience with software development and shell scripting in a Unix (Solaris) operating system environment.
4.Experience integrating and testing 3rd party software into legacy software applications.
