Primary Function:

The primary role of this position will be responsible for leading strategic alliance and project management activities for Hutchison MediPharma’s (HMP) I/O combo programs. Start to work from contract signed and mainly focus on clinical development/drug development in the alliance projects. Apart from the daily interaction with external partners, the role will work closely with all other functions within the company such as Discovery, Pharmacovigilance, DMPK, Translational Medicine, Non-clinical and Clinical Development, CMC, Regulatory, Finance as well as Marketing departments to support drug development. In addition, the ideal candidate will also be able to handle some BD tasks e.g. identify and evaluate external opportunities that can supplement and be value adding to HMP’s pipeline and corporate overall portfolio; Generate reports on competitive landscapes for pipeline products and analyze market competition in the marketplace, and use competitive intelligence to develop competitive strategies and long-term forecasts for each product in the pipeline. It is also expected that the person can drive retrospective project/process review meetings (i.e. after action reviews) to identify issues and strengths and help capture learning.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain strategic-level alliance relationships with and act as a “single point of contact” for key partners to ensure on time and quality deliverables

• Maintain an overview of status and issues and proactively communicate progress, challenges or changes that may impact timelines to the global team

• Identify and evaluate opportunities for collaboration with external partners

• Effectively and collaboratively work on global cross-functional teams

• Develop presentations for status updates, Joint Work Team (JWT) meetings and Joint Development Committee (JDC) meetings, as required; Accountable to facilitate these interactions

Qualifications:

• MSc in Biology or Medical Science. MBA degree is a plus.

• 3+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in drug discovery or clinical development.

• Technical expertise and experience in project management and implementation.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of clinical research, ICH, GCP or GLP required

• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Excellent/accomplished communication skill, facilitation, influencing, and strategic thinking skills within the organization, good at data analysis and presentation.

• Ability to proactively identify issues, propose solutions and troubleshooting and work in a team as well as to work independently with limited guidance or supervision

• Good English (written and spoken) and Chinese
