Caterpillar Aftertreatment and Cooling Products-China (ACP-C) based in Qingdao is seeking a design engineer to develop cooling components and systems for use in CAT machine and engine applications.

Responsibilities

1. Develop cooling component or system design in Pro/E including mounts, packaging, installation, etc.
2. Identify design scope, special product characteristic, and lessons learned from passed CPI issues with current design.
3. Accountable for all design activities including drawing quality, checking, releasing, etc.
4. Execute best-practice in design strategies for component life, serviceability, commonality, etc.
5. Construct and maintain component and system DFMEA
6. Conduct design reviews with supplier and product group

Qualifications

Required –

1. MS in Mechanical Eng (or related science or engineering degree e.g. Vehicle Engineering, Aerospace Eng, Physics, etc.) or BS with 2+ years work experience
2. Experience in product design using CAD/CAE design and analysis tools
3. Knowledge of thermal science (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer)
4. Fluent in English with clear verbal and written communication skills
5. Strong technical and analytical skills
6. Demonstrated motivation and teamwork

Desired -

1. Manufacturing or metallurgy expertise
2. Experiences in using FEA software (Abqus, Ansys, Ideas, etc) for reliability design
3. Knowledge of cooling and exhaust component manufacturing techniques
4. Knowledge of cooling analysis processes
5. Knowledge of diesel engines
