Position: Analyst/Junior Trader – Sugar
Location: Shanghai
Report Line: Trader of Sugar
The incumbent will be responsible for fundamental & technical analysis of the Sugar market, including but not limited to Sugar & downstream market analysis / research / knowledge management focusing on Sugar business in China.
The desired candidate should have strong analytical capabilities covering fundamental / technical / trading aspects of the Sugar business. Fluency in written and spoken Chinese and English is a must.
Responsibility:
1. Conducting market research/intelligence gathering/analysis for Sugar industry, data mining, developing SND models,
tracking price trends, etc. Building and maintaining a database to generate insights for business decision making.
2. Identify & analyze the factors that impact the market, develop an effective suggestion for trading strategy.
3. Technical analysis using multiple tools resulting in actionable trading recommendations.
4. Analysis of macroeconomic / policy developments and providing analysis of market impact along with trading
recommendations.
5. Discuss with China & Global Trading Team on markets / market developments / outlook and trading strategy.
6. Communicate with physical traders, sales & procurement team, futures brokers & funds on a regular basis.
7. Develop & discuss insights into market activity of various participants.
8. Supervising the reporting of Positions.
9. Generating market reports and analysis covering the above and other areas as required.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATION /KNOWLEDGE /EXPERIENCE
1. Should be industry professional with relevant experience of around 1-2 years’ and a thorough understanding of the Sugar / Downstream Industry & Sugar Trading (fundamental & technical, physicals & futures)
2. 1 year or less of trading experience will be an added advantage.
3. Effective communication skills (Bilingual - Mandarin & English).
4. Ability to work well with numbers and analyze complex data, In-depth knowledge of market research tools and databases.
5. Following 'best practice' in research design and documentation.
6. Experience of quantitative and qualitative research.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
8. Ability to work in a structured and organized manner.
9. Reliable, hardworking, integrity
10. Highly motivated with a strong initiative mindset
11. Energetic, able to navigate in a moving and changing environment.
12. Maturity, professionalism, entrepreneurship.
