QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
? Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent education
? Minimum 5-7 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
? Experience supervisory or managerial roll
? Excellent documentation and organizational skills
? Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
? Good knowledge of production equipment
? Computer literate: MP2, Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
? SPC Level 2 and manufacturing process understanding required
? Excellent English language communication skills (both verbal and written)
? Excellent knowledge of TS16949 and ISO14001 systems
? Completed training in Confined Space, Lock-out/Tag-out, WHMIS, First Aid, Spills Response
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. TECHNICAL
A. QUALITY
? NCR disposition and rework are conducted in a timely manner.
? 8D corrective action procedure is followed up and implemented.
? Audit control plans and SPC sheets for completion and appropriate authorization.
? Evaluate scrap at end of shift
B. PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS:
? Evaluates KMI measurable and reports variances during financial reviews including OEE, Attainments Scrap etc.
? Reviews Work Orders for scheduling purposes.
? Prepares weekend schedule on Wednesday of each week.
? Ensures overlap communication is effective at beginning and end of each shift.
? Ensures data on Production Shift Reports are recorded accurately.
? Ensures P.M.'s are incorporated into the production schedule.
? Communicates personnel issues with the H.R. and Payroll Departments.
? Monitors overtime per department requirements.
? Ensures all non-process activities are recorded accurately to express monthly variances.
? Ensures operator checklists are signed-off prior to commencing production on Process Center.
? Make recommendations to Engineering on improvements to operator instructions.
C. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS:
? Ensure supervisors and team leaders are active in prioritizing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring effectiveness of all initiatives generated to improve productivity throughout the shift.
2. SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTAL
? Observes all legislative requirements including but not limited to Section 27 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Ensures workers work in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the Act and the regulations
- Ensures workers use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that MPT MFS requires to be used or worn
- Advises workers of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health or safety of the worker of which you are aware of
- Where so prescribed, provides workers with written instructions as to the measures and procedures to be taken for protection of workers
- Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of workers.
? Observes and enforces ISO 14001 and Health & Safety policies
? Corrects unsafe acts and conditions on a timely basis
? Corrects and commends environmental, health and safety performance of employees on a routine basis and in Performance Appraisals
? Trains new employees and retrains employees as required
? Assist in conducting risk assessments on new and/or modified equipment and/or processes as required
? Participates in accident/incident investigation process
? Conducts safety talks with employees; participates in monthly JEHSC meetings
? Ensures proper orientation is conducted for permanent and temporary workers
? Assist in creating modified jobs when required (Physical Demands Analysis)
? Ensures the department is kept clean, orderly and safe at all times
3. MANAGERIAL
? Manages the activities of employees in the department and distributes their work as necessary
? Resolves work problems and recommends work measures to improve productivity
? Controls working hours and overtime of employees within department through ADP system; ensures attendance is monitored and approves vacation, floaters, birthdays, etc. through Lotus Notes system
? Reviews work performance of employees within department and makes recommendations regarding future work assignments and merit increases
? Performs interviews and orientations as required
? Ensures employees within department receive the proper training to complete their job expectations; update technical training checklists in a timely manner (if applicable)
? Ensures all workers are trained on and abide by related TS16949 and ISO 14001 work instructions at all times
? Conduct regular departmental team meetings
? Encourage good housekeeping at all times and complete '5S' checklist on a monthly basis
? Responsible for departmental financial budgets
4. GENERAL
? Comply with legislative requirements including but not limited to Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing that MPT MFS requires to be used or worn
- Report hazards to your supervisor/manager that you are aware of
- Will not operate any thing or work in a manner that may cause danger
? Ensure TS16949 and ISO 14001 compliance
? Awareness of all relevant Customer Requirements pertaining to your job function
? Treat your fellow workers as you would like to be treated
? Follow guidelines, systems and rules as set out by your Employee Handbook and Company policies
? Keep your workplace clean and tidy at all times
? Any other duties that may be assigned
