职位描述
QUALIFICATIONS
? Engineering degree or Valid Ontario Tool & Die Makers license/certificate with a minimum 7 years of management experience, or valid Master Tool and Die Maker certificate with two years experience
? Excellent understanding of GD&T Level 1 and 2
? Computer literate: CAD systems, Microsoft Office,
? Strong leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
? Excellent documentation and organizational skills
? Excellent English and German language communication skills (both verbal and written)
? Strong knowledge of TS16949, ISO14001 and VDA systems
? Mechanical aptitude, transfer - and fineblank tooling and press knowledge
? Excellent tool design knowledge and tool design calculations
? Sound knowledge of design, metallurgical, coating and heat treat processes
? Sound knowledge of accounting principles
? Sound knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. TECHNICAL
? Responsible for tool design sign-off and functional approval of new dies according to internal developed and industry standards
? Responsible for drawing review and sign-off
? Recommend coating and raw material for spare tooling components
? Able to communicate improvement ideas, design changes with European (German) tool suppliers
? Audit tooling documentation and ensure that documents are up-to-date and well maintained
? Maintain tooling status reports and update Production Manager prior to production meeting
2. QUALITY
? 8D corrective action procedure is followed up and corrections are being implemented according to established timelines
? Participate in APQP activities
? Ensures all workers are trained on the related TS16949 Work Instructions and are followed at all times
3. SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL
? Observes all legislative requirements including but not limited to Section 27 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Ensures workers work in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the Act and the regulations
- Ensures workers use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that MPT MFS requires to be used or worn
- Advises workers of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health or safety of the worker of which you are aware of
- Where so prescribed, provides workers with written instructions as to the measures and procedures to be taken for protection of workers
- Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of workers.
? OBSERVES and enforces ISO 14001 and Health & Safety policies
? Corrects unsafe acts and conditions on a timely basis
? Corrects and commends environmental, health and safety performance of employees on a routine basis and in Performance Appraisals
? Trains new employees and retrains employees as required
? Assist in conducting risk assessments on new and/or modified equipment and/or processes as required
? Participates in accident/incident investigation process
? Conducts safety talks with employees; participates in monthly JEHSC meetings
? Ensures proper orientation is conducted for permanent and temporary workers
? Ensure the Worker's Compensation #7 forms are completed in the event of an accident
? Ensures Treatment Memorandum Forms are issued for Workers who express discomfort and must follow through
? Assist in creating modified jobs when required (Physical Demands Analysis)
? Ensures that the Toolroom is kept clean, orderly and safe
4. SUPERVISORY
? Acts as liaison between Engineering, Management and Toolroom for changes and/or problems
? Interacts with other departments in providing support for the Toolroom (i.e. work instructions, set-up sheets, safe equipment, useable tools, effective processes)
? Encourage good housekeeping at all times (5 "S" Program)
? Ensure the Team Leaders are active in prioritizing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring effectiveness of all initiatives generated to improve productivity throughout the shift
? Managing staff and assist staff in troubleshooting and problem solving on roller- and fineblank dies
? Assigns, prioritizes and schedules Toolroom staff
? Responsible for short and long term budgets and adherence to established budgets
? Ensure the maintenance of an accurate reporting system to the Production Manager
? Responsible for departmental meetings and addressing employee concerns and personnel issues according to internal and Magna Guidelines
? Ensure that maintenance activities on dies are carried out in timely manner and to the highest quality standards
? Develop and maintain a sound plan for the organization of the Toolroom. Establish duties and responsibilities for positions direct reporting to him and assign authority to carry out these activities
? Responsible for performance evaluation (makes recommendations for merit increases) and Time and Attendance for all Toolroom staff
? Ensure that succession planning is being defined and goals and objectives are being established
? Establish and maintain supplier relations and develop new supplier to meet quality requirements for tooling components
? Ensure that production tool drawings are up to date and maintained according to the Change Notice system
? Participate in CI activities to ensure that production Key Measurement Indicators are met and that corrective actions are being implemented and maintained
? Maintains control over press setup and tooling adjustment time and works on projects to reduce setup and adjustment time
? Active role (leader) in developing Tool & Die Apprentices
? Coordinates training activity for Toolroom to ensure that all personnel skills are continuously improved (including TS16949 / ISO 14000)
? Enforces housekeeping to the highest level
