Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·Develop, specify and facilitate implementation of optimum cure conditions and press parameters for all tires manufactured in Asia by or for CTR-Asia Pacific

·Conduct thermocouple and/or blow-point tests to establish optimum cure conditions and press parameters on all new and existing tire lines manufactured in Asia by or for CTR-Asia Pacific

·Develop, specify and facilitate implementation of cure technology specifications, processing and performance standards

·Ensure that all cure technology used by CTR-Asia Pacific is value added and maintains the highest standards of quality, uniform processability and product performance

· Maintain and facilitate plant cures by making sure they are recorded properly in the cure data base.

·Must understand basic piping and controls.

Required Education and/or Experience

· College Diploma (2-3 year) or University Degree (4-year) in Engineering, Chemistry, Technology, Science or Mathematics - required

·Minimum of 1-3-years of relevant experience with cure (vulcanization) technology in the tire or related industry - Optional

·Functional knowledge of tire compounding or engineering or manufacturing processes - preferred

Required Skills & Abilities

·Multi-lingual: English & Mandarin with sound skills in reading, writing & speaking English - Candidate must have strong English skills

·Good communication and technical documentation skills.

·Proficiency with design of experiment methods with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·Functional understanding of quality systems and concepts

·Must be detail oriented, self-starting, and must be able to complete projects with minimal supervision.

·Proficiency with standard PC applications including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio.

Reporting Relationships

·The Cure Engineer / Chemist reports directly to the Director of the Materials Applications Development Group (CTR - Asia Pacific).

·The Cure Engineer / Chemist is the primary liaison between the Cure & Bladder Services Group (CTR-US) and CTR - Asia Pacific.

·The Cure Engineer / Chemist is the primary liaison between the Materials Applications Development Group (CTR - Asia Pacific) and the Asia-Pacific Production Facilities.

Working Conditions

·This work is performed in an office environment, but will require working in production, laboratory, and

warehouse facilities.

·Travel is necessary and should be expected, including overnight stays. International travel is possible.
