Job Purpose:

The Project Manager, Industrial Vacuum Systems is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational aspects of complex engineer to order projects to ensure that they are delivered according to agreed specifications, plans, timescales and budgets and that company procedures are followed in the execution of this projects. Typically the Project Manager will be involved from the proposal stage through to successful completion at the customer site and collection of all monies due. Engineer to order projects will have commercial and technical risk, requiring the Project Manager to collaborate closely with Technical, Sales, Legal, Operations and Procurement as well as direct contact with the customer and third party vendors.

The Project Manager is responsible for improving or at least protecting the projected gross margin for the project.

It is envisaged that the job holder will for the 4-6 months after appointment be deployed on the GV Systems Improvement Project supporting the program by designing, documenting and deploying processes to be used globally by the GV Systems Business in the future and / or the GV Systems Value Stream.

Responsibilities:

l The management of complete industrial vacuum system projects from proposal phase through to final acceptance and payment.

l Auditing of bids against contractual requirements.

l Project delivery to agreed timescales, budgets and quality requirements.

l Identification of risks to the project, their management and production of mitigation plans.

l Provision of regular project reporting to management and customer reviews.

l Creation and maintenance of project plans from customer contract requirements.

l Creation and maintenance of project Technical Construction Files and all project related documentation, ensuring that they are complete, current and appropriately stored.

l Understands basic revenue, contribution and gross margin models, meets financial objectives by forecasting and scheduling expenditures to manage cash flow and improve the gross margin of the Project.

l Ensuring there are no obstacles to customers making timely payments in accordance with contractual obligations.

Compliance with all local and national legislation.

l Ensure that all company Health & Safety and Environmental procedures are adhered to.

Requirements:

l Educated to degree level in an engineering or science discipline.

l 5 to 10 years experience of project management methodology, preferably gained in an electro-mechanical assembly environment.

l Demonstrated the ability to manage projects and resources successfully; including full planning and budgetary controls skills.

l Knowledge of vacuum technology.

l Has ability to delegate responsibility appropriately and successfully to a multi-disciplinary team in accordance with project requirements.

l Communicate effectively at various organizational levels and with different cultures and has matching interpersonal skills.

l Other skills include active listening, coaching, decision making, judgement, persuasion and management of financial resources.
