Responsibility:

• Working under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Systems Engineer will be challenging the current thinking, defining and specifying systems and procedures that will impact processes within the factory operation of Qingdao sites.
• Manufacturing System Engineer also will design, install, monitor, maintain and develop all systems/software affecting the manufacturing cycle of the product.
• Manufacturing System Engineer has Local process ownership for all manufacturing systems; tasks associated with this role include Business Process Improvement (BPI), training and support for users.
• To control and direct project progress such that improvements are achieved within the agreed time-scales.
• To maintain an awareness of the latest manufacturing employed in industry that may be applicable to the process of manufacturing and distribution with in Edwards Qingdao to ensure improvement of manufacturing efficiency and competitive edge

Requirements:

• Formal training to university degree level in an Engineering, Manufacturing Systems or related major.
• In-depth knowledge and 5 years experience of integrated manufacturing control systems, using performance improvement tools such as MRP, MAPICS, ERP, SAP in an industry using cellular manufacturing.
• Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing systems.
• Assessing existing system processes for their relevance and assessing current engineering systems with a view to improvement.
• Good communications skills with the ability to influence senior Management decision making with respect to manufacturing systems improvements.
• Good working knowledge of product data management systems (PDM) e.g. MAPICS, SAP
• Designing, installing and implementing new manufacturing systems and monitoring modifications and upgrades.
• Trouble-shooting existing manufacturing systems.
• The job holder must be a strong team player who has sound project management skills in addition to well developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Attention to detail, self discipline, effective operation under pressure and self starter are other important characteristics of the job holder.
