Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

Responsible for learning and developing total quality management solutions to solve real world manufacturing challenges through teamwork, application of engineering skills, effective problem solving, initiative, leadership, project management and effective communication. Entry level engineering. Interacts with more experienced engineers to manage and follow through on independent projects. This position will also assist other managers and engineers when applicable.

Essential Functions:

• Assist quality activities utilizing engineering background.
• Identify required, gather and analyze data using
• Support and manage issues through disciplined problem solving
• Engage in advanced/complex problem solving using Six Sigma methods/tools
• Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and tools to new products and processes
• Learn certification requirements and participate in audits
• Apply quality risk assessment tools such as FMEAs and identify improved controls and poke-yokes
• Interact with suppliers and customers as necessary to drive quality improvements
• Assist in the design and improvement of manufacturing/production methods and control systems using new, existing, or modified machinery and equipment. Design tools and equipment as necessary.
• Assist with Kaizen events by establishing course of action to accomplish task and/or project.
• Introduce or recommend changes to work methods, safety measures, and labor organization.
• Develop methods for controlling production costs and costs analysis.
• Utilize knowledge and background to address Ergonomics/safety issues.
• Know basic manufacturing operations and lean practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree and major in Manufacturing or Quality Engineering preferred.
• Working knowledge of Quality Engineering, Quality Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Engineering and Technology program.
• 2+ years of relevant working experience on manufacturing industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Proficient oral and written in English.
• This is a two-year rotational training program.
