Position: Maintenance & Engineering Manager
Report: Site GM
Summarize the duties of the position:
Manage overall Maintenance Organization including budget, reliability and productivity to maximize AEE/UEE and maximize profits.Responsible for the administration and management of the Engineering department. Sets goals and objectives to maintain and upgrade the performance, productivity and regulatory compliance of the plant. Supervises direct and non-direct(contract) Engineering personnel.
Job Duties:
Manage the Plant Maintenance Organization.(daily, maintenance capital, reliability)
Manage the development/implementation of Reliability Excellence components to improve AEE/UEE.
Monitor and manage condition of infrastructure and equipment replacement cycles.
Drive EHS Performance for continuous improvements.
Identify, initiate, coordinate, and manage maintenance productivity improvement opportunities.
Assist with Process Safety Management implementation i.e, work practices, design and repair standards, management of change, mechanical integrity, etc.
Facilitate positive change in the Maintenance organization by pro-actively driving department initiatives. Acts as a change agent in implementing cross-functional plant business objectives.
Review major purchases and capital projects optimize life cycle costs.
Assist in tracking metrics and generating the monthly maintenance report for area of responsibility.
Assist maintenance personnel by troubleshooting and resolving equipment problems as necessary.
Proactively identify development opportunities to build reliability expertise.
Assure that the projects being designed within the department are being done so using sound engineering principles and are in accordance with national codes and standards as well as local PSM and Responsible Care procedures and standards.
Directly responsible for providing a system to maintain the site drawings and critical design documents including those outlined in the plant's PSM program.
Directs the development of capital estimates for construction and/or installation of new equipment and prepares the Project Authorization Documents (PAD's) for submittal to Davison and Corporate Management for approval. Develop and maintain performance grid for each project to measure spending, speed and scope accuracy
Develops and maintains the capital budget spending schedule for the plant including the assignment of personnel to projects.
Develops and maintains engineering, material and equipment specifications for use in designing projects and equipment. Also develops and maintains procedures and standards to assure projects designs provide safe access for maintenance and operations.
Directs the evaluation of performance and condition of equipment and initiates the corrective design to resolve both engineering and maintenance deficiencies. This includes the assignment of engineering or drafting personnel to provide the technical assistance as required.
Reviews and qualifies outside Engineering firms for detailed engineering. Directs the services of onsite contract engineering personnel (draftsmen and engineers).
Job Requirements:
10 years work experience in project engineering area ,engineering and supervisory experience preferably in chemical manufacturing environment.
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field. Six Sigma(Greenbelt level) preferred.
