Main Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility is to provide site support across all aspects of Control Engineering. This is achieved via Projects and Plant Support through working as within a team of disciplines Engineers. The main functions / roles are:
* Site Control system Engineering Authority
* Control Design Authority
* Direction and Support of Manufacturing & E/I Maintenance
* New Technology Awareness / Evaluation
? Ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient use of distributed control systems (DCS)
? Ensuring the design and programming of control systems complements and supports global and site progress towards World Class Manufacturing goals.
? Promoting the use of DCS capabilities to improve quality and efficiency in manufacturing.
? Provide maintenance support of PLC’s typically used in packed vendor equipment.
Other key responsibilities are to:
* Maintain compliance of all work to relevant Company and International Standards (particularly Safety Standards and legislative requirements).
* Develop and engender the interchange of discipline knowledge within the site, globally within the company and through other external bodies.
* Advise line management on organizational issues which are being continuously affected by the rapid changes in Inst & Control Technology.
* Closely monitor the 'Quality' of equipment and services provided by vendors /contractors. This involves the leadership /participation in formal and informal DC / Vendor monitoring teams.
* Identify and implement continuous improvements in applied technology and working methods - particularly in Project Engineering.
? Write, maintain and apply standards and procedures for the design and maintenance of process control software.
? Be aware of and recommend new applications and technology improvements to enhance manufacturing methods and efficiency.
? Define and approve process control information of P&IDs and other engineering documents.
? Initiate Process change requests as part of the continuous improvement process.
Position Requirement:
The successful candidate will be expected to have an Electrical / Instrument & Control Engineering background with a Bachelors degree. The successful applicant for this position will be expected to have very good people skills, will have the ability to read and interpret engineering data and will need to converse in both English & Mandarin. A stringent focus on both safety & quality will be expected from the incumbent in this role.
