Abdoolally Ebrahim Group is a 172 years old company established in Hong Kong since 1842. Our group is mainly engaged in trading of housewares products. To cope with our business expansion, we are inviting high caliber candidate to join us as Head of Head of Supply Chain and Quality Management.
Head of Supply Chain and Quality Management
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Supply Chain and Quality Management will help to manage the supply chain merchandising team, shipping team and the quality team. Below are the detailed job scopes:
? Supervise a team of merchandisers and shipping clerks in both to achieve the followings:
? Maintain and increase the sales turnover on repeat orders
? Increase the profit margin on repeat orders through margin management
? Ensure stability of buying and selling prices for at least 6 months;
? Ensure timely shipment date as agreed with customers
? Reduce the shipment lead times
? Build relationships with vendors so that all prices and lead times are best first time of asking;
? Build and maintain good relationships with clients to become supplier of choice for all the repeat orders;
? Continually seek out new sources of product at equal and/or better quality and cost to keep better margin;
? Management of sales order from initial request all the way through to shipment of finished product;
? Lead the QC team in both with the following job scopes:
? Oversee the day-to-day operations of all quality functions including quality control, quality engineering, quality assurance, customer service and factory compliance
? Introducing preventive measures into the system so as to minimize customer complaints and quality claims
? Provide professional advice on quality to all stakeholders during the development and lifetime of the product to ensure the highest levels of quality. Identify potential hazards during the product development phase and provide guidance in mitigating the hazards.
? Ensuring all products and materials are safe to use and meet all required safety standards as per customer’s requirements
? Make sure a proper systems is in place to continuously improve supplier quality through process audits, factory compliance audits, vendor development, vendor training and other incentive or penalty plans
? Communicate with external statutory bodies, third party laboratories and other organizations in dealing with issues related to quality, product safety, reliability and compliance.
? Build inter department relationships and ensure clear and concise communication with all colleagues to drive maximum efficiency across the business;
? Foster a culture of openness and sharing across the business.
Requirements
? Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience within a trading company environment;
? Experience in Housewares /Kitchenware products is highly preferred;
? Experience in HR / Finance / general management is a plus;
? Strong supplier network and relationships;
? Ability to proactively work under own initiative without close supervision;
? Dynamic, mature, hands on and with "can do" attitude in a demanding fast paced environment;
? Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills; good project management and customer service skills;
? Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua);
? Frequent travel to PRC required.
? Position will be based in Shenzhen/ Hong Kong
