Key responsibilities :
The quality control specialist inspects all our kitchen products to ensure quality compliance in accordance to our quality control specifications. The responsibilities of the quality control (QC) specialist fall into three major areas :
1, quality monitoring
- Take full responsibility of inspecting assigned product lines to ensure that finished products are within required product technical specifications as agreed in the quality control specification guidelines.
- Communicates quality and/or production problems and issues as they arise to supplier and QC supervisor and works to proactively resolve issues and make decisions on whether PO is approved to ship
- For POs not approved to ship, must immediately notify QC supervisor and supplier export department.
Proactively works with suppliers to provide recommendations to reduce the cost of the products and/or manufacturability, works directly to improve the overall execution of the supplier base including supplier performance, supplier development or transition plans, supplier capacity constraints , and cost reduction opportunities .
2, supplier interface
- Act as the interface between suppliers and the shanghai office reporting on production delays and/or quality issues as they arise , intelligence gathering including monitoring supplier production progress and production availability reporting on possible constraints due to raw materials or new customers coming online
- Work with suppliers to resolve product return claims.
Requirements:
- BS/BA required ( Engineering or other technical degree preferred )
- Minimum 3 years experience in quality control of kitchen and related products .
- Self-motivated, able to manage complex situations and issues.
- Demonstrated experience with manufacturing processes, supply chain management techniques, supplier quality systems, and supplier performance measurements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and communicates information on a timely basis.
- PC skills, including use of the internet for communication, excel spreadsheet analysis, and word-processing.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel
- Fluent in English written and oral.
- Experience in kitchen preferred and considered first.
