Product Marketing Manager




Position Title: Product Marketing Manager
Position Type: Full time
Location: China Headquarters based in Shanghai
Reports to: Product Chain Director


The Product Marketing Manager belongs to the Purchasing department and reports to the Product Chain Director.
This Department aims at building an attractive collection for each season in order to reach the Turnover and the Margin objectives.






Mission

Under the responsibility of the Product Chain Director, the Product Marketing Manager defines the optimum assortment strategy, based on research and market understanding, in order to meet financial goal, optimize and drive business opportunities. He/she continuously conducts product study&research through the seasons.

He/she acts as the privileged link between Purchasing team and PA to ensure assortment goals and objectives are met. He/she provides advice, assistance and support to the Purchasing team.


Key Duties & Activities
The Product Marketing Manager develops Marketing Product Strategy and forecast for products based on his/her research, market understanding and product analysis.
He/she is always looking for new and pertinent levers that will optimize the turnover.


1. Assortment construction & optimization/adaptation to our Network

Through market research/study (market needs, benchmark, survey...) and product analysis (quantity, market share, price...) the Product Marketing Manager build the adequate assortment plan to maximize the target objectives and turnover.

Product Marketing Manager also has to adapt the assortment to the specificities of our network, depending on;
- Network; online or offline,
- Store's size; space opportunities to maximize store performance,
- Store localization (North/South) needs, which are different in terms of;
? Customer profile (size, needs, taste, buying power),
? Seasonality,
? Climate.

According to these criteria, he/she develops and maintains the assortment plan (key items, color, and structure of the themes), translating the assortment strategy into plans that project the inventory required (quantity, prices, product offer...) and meet financial goals.
He/she provides advices and strong support to the purchasing team in order to develop the best product offer and optimize the impact of the collection.


2. Product analysis

To propose an adequate assortment plan, make the right decision and advice the purchasing team the Product Marketing Manager will have to conduct strong product analysis. He/she will work closely wit PA to analyze product's key indicators throughout the season such as;
- Life curve of products
- Rhythm of the collection
- Market share
- Prices
- Key items

These previous products's key indicators analysis allowed him/her to go further to;
- Provide the appropriate pre-season product analysis for the assortment definition,
- Analyze performance in season, make recommendations to reach our target objectives,
- Analyze post season results to improve our product strategy,
- Think on product's launch period through season and period,
- Understand product's life curves.

His/her analyze and knowledge makes him/her; understand how to drive the business; a referent for useful advices to help the purchasing team providing the most suitable offer throughout the season.


3. Market Research
In order to advice the purchasing team on the assortment plan, part of the Product Marketing Manager position is to conduct market study/research.
He/she builds his/her market's knowledge by analyzing;
- Key competitors/Benchmark (even per province)
- Assortment (color, themes, size...)
- Color & Structure of the themes
- Quantity/Volume
- Prices
- Display
- Customer profile/needs

He/she is continuously looking for market key's information which makes him/her perfectly knows the environment and its evolution. He acts as the market's referent for the purchasing team.


The Product Marketing Manager commits in respecting all new tasks and / or instructions requested by its Director and to accept all missions that could be entrusted to him/her in the frame of its competencies and professional experience.
