General Duties

Sr. EHS Specialist is an integral member of the plant management team and has an impact on the profitability and integrity of the organization through contributions in Environmental, Health and Safety management. The EHS Specialist is responsible for partnering with “customers” within the facility to help them achieve business objectives through the effective implementation of environmental, health and safety management system and processes.

Principle Accountabilities

· Promote a culture where EHS and compliance is part of the business and cannot be compromised. Drive a world-class EHS performance.

· Ensure compliance with national, provincial, city and Local regulations and compliance with Invensys plc and Appliance Controls EHS policies and standards.

· Establish and implement an EHS management system that enables continuous improvement.

· Effectively manage risks to employees and the environment by identifying risks and developing and implementing cost effective control measurements.

· Develop and conduct EHS trainings that are compliant, appropriate for the risks identified, and enhancing the EHS culture.

· Drive continuous improvement in injury reductions, energy/resources conservation and waste reductions to meet the business targets.

· Champion EHS initiatives within facility to ensure employees and managers understand and actively participate the initiative.

· Timely and effectively communicate EHS status and issues to EHS function leaders in the business segment and corporation.

Qualifications

· BS Degree in EHS field or similar, e.g., industrial engineer, chemical or mechanical engineer.

· Very familiar with China National and local regulations and understand the effective ways to comply with the regulations. Have 5 or more years hands on experiences in factory EHS work.

· Very familiar with China National and local EHS permit processes and permit modification processes. Have experiences in permit application and modification.

· Minimum of 5 years experience as an EHS professional in a multinational European or American company. Very familiar with multinational companies’ EHS standards, processes, and expectations.

· A strong believer of continuous improvement with knowledge of CI, six sigma tools.

· Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization. Ability to get work done through all levels of the organization.

· English language required booth verbal and writing skills.
