Summary of Position:

The Client Strategy Team collaborates with IT clients to understand the business strategies, aligns the strategic direction for global applications and technology platforms with client strategies, and understands the client business roadmap to identify how IT will enable and support the strategies and bring value.

The Business Services Manager's role is to provide direction and leadership for engaging the business in strategic planning to define how IT can enable the division/function on achieving their business objectives via the business plan. This position acts as the focal point for understanding business processes and identifying and executing IT initiatives to support and improve the processes.

In support of the Company Enterprise Operating System, (Company EOS) this position will have a series of actions and outcomes required to achieve the division or enterprise desired capability level. Making the Company EOS the IT systems and service capability framework will ensure that our client's business objectives are achieved and accomplished in a manner that is both predictable and measurable. To match the ongoing business needs of our clients and achieve a higher degree of client intimacy, this position will support the establishment and execution of a performance management capability that delivers the right level of IT and client collaboration to solve performance outages and deliver required business capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

· Engage and understand business objectives, and translate them into IT plans for Strategic and Annual Plans and to refresh these on a periodic basis based on:
Global business processes and operating model
Performance metrics (e.g., operational, financial)
Global footprint plan (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, facility moves, new facilities)
Work with Architecture to develop and maintain the Division IT solution roadmap for business functions and/or sites (as assigned by the Division IT Manager)

· Proactively identify ways to leverage IT to increase revenue, provide competitive advantage, or reduce costs
Identify strategies, tools, and process changes to provide competitive advantage
Recommend areas where IT service levels or consumption can be reduced to lower costs to Company


· Own the relationship between IT and client functions on behalf of and with the Division IT Manager
Schedule regular meetings with key clients with stated objectives and outcomes
Deliver key enterprise IT messages (e.g., use and value of common systems, re-use of existing technologies)
Manage client approvals, acceptance, and sign-offs for IT initiatives at functional level
Support the sourcing activities as required
Support the development and execution of new processes and procedures
Support the development of financial forecasts and budget plans as required

· Understand external industry
Where peer companies are heading, what challenges they are facing, and how they are overcoming them and what solutions they are using to solve their business problems
Leverage that understanding when working with the business to develop and implement strategy

· Support the process for IT initiative identification, prioritization, and approval
Work with client functional leaders to develop requirements and business cases for IT initiatives
Document business requirements for IT initiatives that are useable/actionable by the solutions organization
Ensure new initiatives are correctly categorized and prioritized in ITMS and other tools (e.g., Mandatory, Critical Vulnerability, Discretionary)
Work with clients to develop business cases for IT initiatives and ensure client commitment to a benefits achievement plan

· Work with Global Solutions to support project execution
Engage business to provide required support
First line for business related escalations

· Be an advocate for common processes and systems
Work with architecture teams to understand the enterprise application strategy and support its development and execution
Work with shared service groups to understand solutions that can be utilized for business benefit

· Company EOS implementation
Understand for each Division/Function the current state of their EOS (Know-It)
Provide the necessary insight and observations to the client and other IT teams to establish the current as is environment (Assess-It)
In collaboration with the client develop a prioritized list of actions to be taken against the as is environment (Plan-It)
For all prioritized gaps, participate in the development of a gap closure plan to include individual projections, actions and outcomes with the required business case and funding identified (Execute-It)
Communicate and share with others the identified gaps, solutions being pursued, lessons learned and outcomes achieved (Share-It)
Over time, mature the Division/Function EOS into the broader Company EOS (Mature-It)
Ensure that for each Information Technology capability gap that is identified that you accept personal accountability to assist in closing the gap (Own-It)


Candidate Qualifications:

The Business Services Manager will be an overall, effective manager, coordinator, and communicator and be able to collaborate internationally. She/he will be a proven team leader, able to plan, document and communicate effectively. The correct candidate will possess energy, create enthusiasm for introducing the managed shared service organization and team, and support the development of value-added service definitions and help lead change for the client.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

· 5 or more years experience managing and/or coordinating IT services, projects and/or operations.
· 10 or more years overall work experience.
· Good understanding of the Business / PBU / Divisional organization's goals and objectives.
· A working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the client and locations.
· Working knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following business processes: Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and/or Purchasing.
· Working knowledge and/or experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle. Global IT project implementation experience is preferred
· Working knowledge if IT infrastructure services
· Working knowledge and/or experience in Automotive or Manufacturing industry
· Proven experience in planning, organizing, and working with client groups in a region or Division.
· Broad experience in planning and prioritization, financial, audit, service delivery [infrastructure and/or applications] would be useful.
· Demonstrated ability to negotiate on priorities
· Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving specific problems.
· Proven team-worker.
· Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
· Good written and oral communication skills in local language[s] and English
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
· Exceptionally self-motivated and directed and able to work in a geographically dispersed team.
· Good analytical, evaluating and problem-solving abilities.
· Service orientation.
· Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.


Educational Requirements:

· B.S. or B.A. degree in the field of computer science, business administration, engineering, or related discipline. Advanced degree is a plus.
