Shanghai Branch General Manager-for a global freight forwarding company
Our client is international shipping & forwarding company, which specialized in sea & air freight forwarding, contract logistics, business. Now They are looking for a Branch General Manager in Shanghai.

The job location: Shanghai

Responsibilities:
? Holds direct P&L responsibility for all business activities in Shanghai Cluster ( Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Taicang)
? Accountable to manage, develop and expand the logistics business, providing direction and leadership to ensure profitable growth with satisfactory cash flow
? Establish operations that deliver industry leading service standards that facilitate market leadership in target sectors
? Optimize the utilization of business assets and human resources in accordance with the logistics business strategy and local business environment
? Implement KPI's to monitor productivity of staff. Design monthly management report that will communicate key success's/challenges to senior management team and broader business. Drive 95% + performance in both operational and financial scorecards
? Collaborate effectively with all relevant internal and external parties for the best interests of the company China business and the group as a whole
? Develop personal relationships with key strategic clients to ensure business retention and growth and to act as a focal point for client escalations if necessary
? Enable and facilitate the provision of services that meet or exceed customer expectations
? Provide leadership and management of the logistics team in the cluster, driving strategy execution and product management whilst ensuring high employee morale and motivation
? Work with regional and global stakeholders to agree business targets, discuss performance and understand local market dynamics
? Represent and promote the company with all necessary local trade associations, government and regulatory bodies
? Leverage and collaborate with all the group entities for the benefit of the East China logistics business and the group as a whole
? Lead the annual business planning and budgeting processes to develop aggressive but realistic plans that support the agreed strategies and targets
? Ensure that appropriate operational, commercial and financial KPI's are employed across the business to provide timely and effective reporting to support day-to-day management of the business
? Actively champion and promote improvements in the organization
? Drive strategic investments in cluster to support the continued growth, profitability and sustainability of the business
? Ensure the financial well-being of the company from a legal, statutory and the group perspective
? Ensure all global and regional policies and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to
? Ensure key opportunities are appropriately resourced and positioned with clients for closure.
? Work with Human Resources on talent management, people development and succession planning initiatives
? Portray a positive culture within the offices, which promotes continuous improvement, incorporating the the group Values

Qualification:
? Understands key business financial reports and drivers
? Understands international forwarding and domestic logistics business drivers
? Industry recognized professional with established key contacts
? Creditable logistics professional in a local market context
? Solid Commercial back ground
? Commercially astute
? Minimum 10 years industry experience in international forwarding and logistics.
? Experience in a commercial and/or operational role (preferably both)
? Proven track record of commercial / sales management
? Fluent in spoken and written English & Mandarin
? Knowledge of the East China business and logistics market
? Contacts within the local business and regulatory community
? Network/contacts within the international logistics industry
? General management experience
