Introduction to the department
Procurement represents more than 60% of the total value in our field development projects and as such has very large impact on the overall project success. The procurement department has three main areas of responsibility, Procurement, Material Control and Logistics. Kværner has in addition to being a market leader in the Norwegian oil and gas market also been awarded significant international projects. Personnel working in the procurement department may achieve international experience by working with international suppliers and international assignments. Procurement is responsible for all major supplies when developing new oil and gas fields. This critical role will be fundamental to further develop Kvaerner International procurement capabilities with special focus on projects in Asia. The Procurement Manager will work closely with President Asia Pacific , Beijing Hub Sourcing Manager and VP Kvaerner Group Supply Management

Responsibilities and tasks:

? Develop and lead procurement team(s) for international projects tender and execution
? Develop procurement strategy and target for cost effective delivery model for international projects
? Develop working model with China fabrication partner on procurement for international projects
? Provide support function to sourcing activities as/when required
? Build up relationships with procurement organization with fabrication partner(s)
? Promote HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and ethical behaviour in procurement to align with group ‘Values’
? Responsible for ensuring compliance with group procurement policies and procedures and relevant statutory regulations
? Interface with group supply management for procurement aspects
? Establish China procurement operation systems to integrate with global project systems


Qualification and competence requirements:

? Minimum 10 years’ experience in EPC procurement for major offshore production platforms.
? Experiences in procurement management for international projects with fabrication in Asia is a must. The ideal candidate has been project procurement manager on relevant offshore EPC projects
? Board knowledge on Asian suppliers’ resources is a must
? University degree or professional education in Engineering or Commercial
? Willing to take challenges on international project in cross-culture working environment
? Team-working, problem solving & focusing on results
? Ability to lead and manage a team on projects
? Ability to contribute and influence global & regional strategies
? High integrity and ethical values
? Fluent in written and spoken English
