Introduction to the department
Procurement represents more than 60% of the total value in our field development projects and as such has very large impact on the overall project success. The procurement department has three main areas of responsibility, Procurement, Material Control and Logistics. Kværner has in addition to being a market leader in the Norwegian oil and gas market also been awarded significant international projects. Personnel working in the procurement department may achieve international experience by working with international suppliers and international assignments. Procurement is responsible for all major supplies when developing new oil and gas fields. As an employee in Kværner you will have unique opportunity to be part of a procurement team with the opportunity to impact the projects overall cost, execution and risks. You will be challenged to think along new lines, explore new markets and perform negotiations of major contracts. You will be able to use your competence in a broad and creative way, cooperate across disciplines and cultures, and continuously develop your skills.

Responsibilities and tasks
? Promote HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and ethical behaviour in procurement to align with group ‘Values’
? Ensure compliance with Employer’s procurement policies and procedures and relevant statutory regulations on project procurement execution
? Involve in supplier’s qualification
? Verifying production process in accordance with suppliers’ QA/QC system
? Interpret and understand manufacturing design requirements and product application
? Propose solutions for material substitution between various standards
? Assessing the physical structure and behaviour of metals
? Software application of the technical knowledge to develop solutions
? Investigate accidents where it is suspected that the cause may be related to metallurgical failure and making recommendations on corrections
? Write documents, manuals, metallurgical investigations, and reports on research and tests carried out

Qualification and competence requirements
? University degree or professional education in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy or Material Science or Physics
? Having the knowledge of chemical & physical characters of metals
? Having the knowledge of the behaviour of metals under stress and temperature
? Having the knowledge of test and inspection methods
? Familiar with relevant standards such as ISO, EN, API, BS and NORSOK & Chinese GB
? Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience on materials of offshore oil & gas industry
? Fluent in oral and written English
? A team player willing to take challenges on international project
? Personal dedication to develop professional expertise to an international level within materials selection and sourcing is an advantage
? Communication and presentation skills
? Team-working, problem solving & focusing on results
? Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
? Ability to work effectively on your own or in a team
? Attention to detail
? No objection to frequent travelling
