Responsibilities：

1. Attending safety meeting/activities, carrying out safety inspections, complying and promoting the Safety Culture

2. Carrying out chemical and physical testing of chemical raw materials and end products

3. Formulating Eastman’s raw materials into coatings applications for testing

4. Organizing and prioritizing experimental work based on timelines and objectives outlined by supervision

5. Documenting and reporting laboratory work

6. Handling of chemicals (receiving & shipping)

7. Preparing and submitting samples for physical and analytical testing

8. Carrying out laboratory equipment operation & maintenance

9. Assisting AD & TSR in providing training and demonstration

10. Working with vendors to ensure that chemicals, equipment and consumables are available for smooth laboratory operations.

11. Maintaining the housekeeping in a customer ready state

Education: Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry

Personal Qualifications/Requirements:

• Experience/Job Knowledge/Expertise - The candidate should have working experience related to water or solvent borne based formulation work at least 1 year.
• Judgment – Good planning to ensure that materials & equipment are available when required for laboratory testing.
• Initiative – Must be self-motivated, looking for ways to improve laboratory work processes, testing accuracy and safety.
• Technical Skills - Good knowledge in chemical formulation including handling and blending of chemicals. Must have the ability to perform calculation required for formulation work. A good understanding of solvent borne coatings and coating spray applications would be preferred.
• Computer Skills – Able to use Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Language Skills – English and Chinese
• Communication Skills – Must be able to communicate experimental results clearly to peers & supervision through email, verbal communication and/or concise report. Required to update research notebook clearly and promptly.
• Teamwork – Must be able to work with people having different personalities and different job functions.
