The Role

Support major novel programmers, product developments, provide specific engineering expertise within a specialist field semiconductor pumps. Solve problems and minimize the impact between technical solutions inherent in different parts of the semiconductor pumps.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Production quality improvement

-Technical investigation for semiconductor product quality issues, and provide technical solution.

2. Internal customer satisfaction

- Responsible for technical solutions for internal customer problems.

- Support technical knowledge to existing semiconductor product.

- Give basic training and guidance to local team.

3. Support warranty reduction action

- Monitoring & analysis semiconductor pump warranty with CIP activities.

4. PPV

- Support to cost reduction projects with technical advice and knowledge.

- Fit & Function test support.

5. Test

- Guide semiconductor pump testing on Qingdao site, such as validation and reliability.

- Development lab upgrade related with semiconductor pump utilities.

6 Compliance

- Understanding and implement international & domestic regulation related to semiconductor products.

ISO, CE, ATEX, Intertek, ROHS and so on.

7. Communication

- Ensure effective technical communication between onsite manufacturing, quality, technical departments, and communication with technical team in Cheonan Product Company.

Scope of the job

The Technical Support Engineer - Semi will typically function as a member of a team working to technical for semiconductor products, through the specification, investigation, testing, support and integration phases of problem solving. He/she participates in straightforward problem specification and analyses, supports the development of novel solutions, develops and tests programs/specifications at all levels, carries out testing and contributes fully to support and integration activities with minimal supervision.

The job holder is an individual contributor, responsible for planning and controlling his/her own activities to deliver assigned work. Plans relating to non-typical work may be reviewed with a more senior member of staff once they have been prepared, but the job holder is responsible for delivery within the plan once agreed. The job holder will need to remain aware of the team's activities - and of relevant activities outside the immediate team - to identify and act upon dependencies between his/her work and that of other team members.

Problems will typically arise in relation to individual assigned pieces of work, and how these related to work being carried out elsewhere. Other problems will relate to technical situations not encountered before.

Assignments will be allocated by the engineer/manager in charge of the relevant project or sub-project. Whilst the job holder is responsible for decisions in relation to his/her own work, technical guidance will be available. It is likely, however, that the job holder will need to identify the most appropriate sources for such guidance.

The job holder will have regular contact with staff within the team in relation to assigned work and major problems arising and he/she may provide technical guidance to more junior staff. There will also be a significant level of contact outside the team within Edwards in relation to wider issues. The job holder is likely to deliver technical presentations under guidance and supervision.

 

What we expect of you? 

Education level: Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Relevant previous experience:

Typically engineering knowledge and experience relating to machining process, assembly, mechanical (compressor, pump or other similar rotating machines) design.

Ability to solve complex technical issues by using typical quality tools, FMEA, 8D, Parato, Fishbone, etc.

Ability to communicate across culture, with self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

Language skills: Fluent English both in spoken and written.

Other skills and knowledge:

Mechanical design experience;

Good skills of Microsoft Office.

Vacuum engineering knowledge or experience is a plus.
