Essential Functions:

• Operate a variety of hardware such as hydraulic pressure testers, chillers, and calibration bath hardware

• Use proprietary software to view daily work assignments, begin and end calibrations, track instrument data, and track equipment performance

• Interpret calibration results and evaluate sensor performance with a high degree of independence

• Measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the team and communicate results.

• Provide root-cause analysis and corrective action plans for KPI misses.

• Address issues, apply problem-solving and troubleshoot to develop effective solutions

• Capture and escalate feedback regarding quality defects, performance concerns, data quality, feature requests or other relevant information.

• Use, create, and maintain established work instructions for Sea-Bird Scientific equipment.

• Comply with all safety rules and regulations including but not limited to: wearing all required PPE, maintaining a safe work area, identifying and reporting unsafe conditions to supervisor, and participating in risk assessments.

• Occasionally required to work off-shift to provide time-critical support to customers.

Education,
Background and Qualification Requirements:

• Two-year technical degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

• 5+ years related experience in an appropriate manufacturing or service environment.

• Ability to work independently, organize and manage time efficiently and effectively.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a structured and logical manner.

• Ability to follow documented instructions and procedures in English.

• Ability to use complete Microsoft Office Suite. Salesforce and Oracle experience a plus.

• Ability to learn and use scientific and/or plotting software.

• Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, customers, scientists, other staff in Chinese and English.

• History of good employment attendance and punctuality.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret and maintain technical procedures in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and scientists. Ability to effectively communicate with non-native English speakers via email or over the phone.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and formulas to analyze data using Microsoft Excel. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
