JOB DESCRIPTION：

1. Responsible for component selection, benchmarking, qualification and approval of new and development and work with purchasing to provide guidance to engineering on electronic component selection. Manage and maintain company electronic component database, support associated work flow process, support to product testing in production.

2. Responsible for following internal standards and process for electronic component selection, qualification and approval. Search and review component data sheets, shortlist alternate components, identify where the component is used, develop qualification test plans based on the various end applications, perform and document tests to qualify the components.

3. Work with the quality group to support component changes to improve product quality.

4. Work with design engineer and contract manufacturer to complete DFM and ensure compliance of new components to manufacturing process. Coordinate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure efficient transition of adding alternate components from qualification to production on schedule. Document all selection and qualification tests.

5. Contribute to VA/VE activities to support cost reduction and continuous quality improvements by recommending new components. Keep up with the electronic component industry trends and recommend design and component upgrades per the technology changes in the industry.

6. Work with a geographically distributed engineering, purchasing and CRM teams.

7. Provide guidance in selecting components that meets the internal, end application and agency.

8. Some travel domestically and globally to support quality audit of component suppliers if necessary.

9. Provide support to hardware design engineers to perform new component search.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. BS of Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Automation engineering.

2. 3 to 5 years of experience as a component engineer / HW testing engineer.

3. Experience in component qualification, MTBF, reliability calculations and testing strongly desired.

4. Experience in working with electronic component part numbering and database strongly desired.

5. Familiarity in analog/digital circuit design and analysis strongly desired.

6. Familiarity with PCB DFM, assembly and manufacturing process strongly desired.

7. Familiarity with motor control or Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) circuit design is preferred.

8. Familiarity with PSPICE circuit simulation software, PCB schematic capture and layout tools preferred.

9. Familiarity with UL and CE certification for electronic components is preferred.
