Qingdao Sales Position Description:
Position: Sales Manager
Spaulding Composites is a leading, globally active composite materials manufacturing and processing company with operations in Qingdao, China. We are current seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Manager to help drive our growth in China. If you have the right technical skills and demonstrated business growing experience, you can become a part of an international team of quality driven manufacturing leaders that will help drive growth in China and abroad.
Qualifications:
1. B.S. Engineering from an accredited university
2.Proficient in both written and spoken English. The candidate shall be prepared to demonstrate these abilities by both a written and verbal exam.
3.Ability to travel throughout China via standard, publically available transportation methods
4. Demonstrated experience and success in (with)
a.Technical sales (prospecting, cold calling, needs analysis, customer support )
b. Managing customer accounts including
i.Growing sales
ii. Building sales networks via customer contacts
iii. Assisting with resolving business issues related to:
1).Shipment/delivery related problem resolution
2).Past due account management and resolution
3).Gathering and maintaining customer data to establish credit
4).Customer quality assurance and incoming goods inspection
iv. Managing and assisting with Returned Material Authorizations
c. Technical support customer needs analysis
i. Working with customers to understand their current material selections
ii. Working with customers to understand their production processes, supply chain strategies (sub-supplier evaluation) and new product development goals
iii. Working with customers to identify both material replacement solutions based upon Spaulding materials and capabilities
5. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production techniques as well as material identification, evaluation and quality review
6. Preferred additional qualifications
a. Advance degree in either business, engineering or related technical discipline
b. Ability and willingness to travel abroad
c. Hands on experience in operation of production machinery in a manufacturing environment
d. Demonstrated working knowledge with material science and engineering mechanics of materials
e. Strong working knowledge of doing business in China
f. Experience working with international companies with business operations in China

The successful candidate will be an experienced Sales Manager that has mastered the technical selling process and possesses a strong understanding of conducting business in China. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required. The candidate must be able to document and demonstrate success in technical selling (prospecting, cold calling, needs analysis, customer support). In addition the candidate shall have mature relationship skills and demonstrated experience with building sales networks and managing business issues including product shipments, credit management and assisting customers with quality assurance and incoming goods inspection topics. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes, production techniques and engineering evaluation of materials.
This position will involve considerable travel throughout China and occasionally abroad. The candidate must be able to demonstrate skill with planning and executing a busy travel schedule while maintaining appropriate financial solvency. A preferred candidate will have an advanced degree in business, engineering or related discipline. A preferred candidate will also have experience with manufacturing and machinery operation as well as experience working with international companies.
