Responsibility:

1>Develop upholstery samples of new products at highest possible quality level

2>Document, setup procedures and ways of working for new product development to allow mass manufacturing of products

3>Facilitate hand over of approved samples to production with clear guidance on how to achieve desired quality level

4>Challenge new designs and propose improvements to existing products to improve the quality and manufacturability 

5>Train, experiment and develop internal upholstery capabilities via training and mentoring of upholstery workers

6>Troubleshoot, analyse, inspection, disassembly, rebuild and modify upholstery products with claims to improve quality over time

7>Investigate together with workshop managers machinery improvements to improve the safety, quality, delivery and cost of the workshops

Qualifications:

>Ability to build up, specify and sample upholstery products of varying difficulty

>Understanding of what makes good and long lasting upholstery furniture

>Eye for upholstery details

>Ability to understand customer complaints and how to find the root cause and develop solutions to improve products

> Good computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and Outlook) and statistical tools

>Must be responsible & able to work effectively, both independently and team work

>Good interpersonal and communication skills

>Fluent in both spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese

>Knowledge about lean and lean principles

>Ability to analyse, describe and improve manufacturing/product processes

>Ability to train others in best practice manufacturing processes

>Keen eye for details and how to improve products
