Job Description What are my responsibilities?Early Procurement InvolvementBe actively involved in the product development/manufacturing process as well asimplement cost reduction measures (design to cost, target costing, standardization, keydata, etc.) to reduce the overall material costs. Perform basic supplier audits & assessment in order to access capabilities and ensure smooth transition from Global Suppliers to China suppliers.Closely align with R&D community in the BU and Procurement (Commodity Managers, Buyers). Contribute expertise to the Siemens-wide PE network, focusing on certain commodities within the assigned Division/BU. Early Supplier IntegrationInclude suppliers and contribute to cost-benefit analysis workshops, innovation workshopsand concept competitions with key suppliers in order to concentrate on the key functions ofthe components/projects. Assess and develop suppliers from the technological standpoint (if necessary, jointly with interface partners) in order to concentrate on the best suppliers.Support GVS activities of LDA HQ with regard to identification/ nomination of capable and competitive suppliers in China/ Asia.Organizes supplier related activities e.g. prototype sourcing, concept competitions. Supplier Management: Technology and AnalysisAssess and develop suppliers from the technological standpoint (if necessary, jointly withinterface partners) in order to concentrate on the best suppliers.Conduct and provide market information/analyses on international technology and pricetrends in order to obtain new suppliers and new technologies in the supply chain. Alignment of Technology RoadmapsIntroduce and follow up given cross-functional Procurement strategies to ensure thelinkage of commodity strategies and technological market trends.Challenge requirements and related costs as basis for proposals of DtC measures to R&D. Strategy deploymentDrive sourcing decisions with interface partners in order to incorporate technological know-how and safeguard security strategies. Business supportBe involved in and provide corresponding support for projects in lines of business in orderto provide optimum input for quotes, workshops, scope of material (BoM assessment) andrealization of potential for savings in the project. Drive PE cross-company network and cross-company knowledge exchange. What do I need to qualify for this job?At least 6 years experience with min 3 years in Manufacturing/R&D/ENG Handled PE activities, Worked in Manufacturing, Supplier Innovation or Procurement NA Worked with Global team members Motor / Drive / Converter manufacturing / Industry experience Manufacturing Process of Mechanical / Electronics reqd in MV motors / Drives Supplier Innovation and Early Involvement Product Lifecycle Management Product Knowledge Commercial Knowledge Costing Knowledge
