Job title: Product Sourcing Specialist

Function: Product & Operations

Reports to: Head of Product Sourcing

Sub Function: China JV

Location: Shanghai, China (must be able to relocate)

Job purpose: Responsible for the: contracting, development and introduction of innovative and differentiated holiday product offering for the outbound Chinese & Ex - Pat market that are underpinned by in-depth travel and life style consumer insights, supporting product & operations team along with sales and marketing teams to implement product plan across multiple channels

Key accountabilities and decision ownership [max 8]:

-Negotiating contracts with existing and new partners ensuring Thomas Cook has the best possible market price and product offering.

-Agree price with sales and marketing teams to deliver passengers and margin to the business

-Pro-actively work with key suppliers to obtain special promotion prices and value added offers.

-Monitor consumer trends, life style choices and travel product offerings in China and identify new product concepts and value adding propositions

-Collaborate with the marketing team and other business function, facilitating information sharing to ensure successful launch of products

-Support the development of the marketing materials to promote the holiday product offering across multiple channels -Coordinate ideas and information across production team members

Skills, know-how and experience [max 8]: Must have:

-An understanding and interest in the Chinese Outbound & Ex-Pat Tourism Industry

-Sales & marketing acumen, including digital and social media

-Experience of sourcing new product and negotiation skills.

-Fluent Mandarin and a good command of English Creative, innovative mind-set, a self starter and willing to work in a start-up venture environment

-Willingness to take on new and diverse challenges

-Work experience in consumer industry in China and understanding of drivers and trends of consumer behaviour in China

-Strong relationship building and networking skills, both internally & externally

-Passionate, enthusiastic and analytical

-Experience of working in the travel industry

Preferred

-Experience of working in creative, branding or PR agencies

-Knowledge of the Chinese digital environment

Technical / professional qualifications:

-Business Degree (min. Bachelor level, preferable MA or MBA)
