Position Summary:
Responsibility for vendors using the appropriate process for quality and on time deliveries and meet the company/retailer quality specifications using a 2.5% AQL.

Accountabilities:
Monitor factory production schedules and ensure that each QA team member understands how production will go through their respective factories and their inspection role at each stage of the production process, as well as that of the vendor QA personnel in the factory.
Communicate frequently with QA team members to monitor the status of styles in production and discuss solutions any quality issues which are surfacing. As needed and permitted by technical knowledge, assist in solving production quality problems. When necessary request assistance from company management.
Communicate regularly with factory managers and QA personnel to become aware of current issues with production, and quality. Identify plans/solutions proposed. If these plans or solutions are contrary to company interests address them with factory management or enlist company management to remedy the situation.
Ensure that the QA team follows established inspection and record keeping procedures and that they have the tools they need to do their jobs – QC manuals, inspection sampling tables, product specifications and tolerances, etc.
Where necessary provide guidance in interpreting QA materials and help to train and initiate them into factory operating procedures.
As procedures are changed or modified ensure the team is made aware of changes and undergoes the necessary training.
Assess the strengths and weaknesses of QA staff (and vendor personnel) and act to address weaknesses where they exist.
*Supervisor/Management Accountabilities:
Managing and directing a team of company quality assurance personnel located in vendor factories to assure appropriate process is in the factory to avoid last minute issues.
Influencing, and when needed, training and guiding vendor factory managers and their quality assurance personnel to adopt methods and procedures which will achieve quality and production goals.
Assessment of possible factory issues in regards to social compliance or safety hazards in the factories which are in contrast to company interest. Requirements:
Five or more years of QA supervisor/manager experience in the soft goods sewn products manufacturing industry, preferably in children’s bedding and apparel. Experience in fabric/product embellishment would a distinct advantage (printing, embroidery, etc).
Experience in QA which covers the major areas of production – cutting, sewing and finishing, plus exposure to working in a company which had a well developed and rigorous statistical QC program in place.
Possess technical knowledge and experience sufficient to be able to diagnose fabric and construction problems and develop practical solutions.
Possess strong communication skill to work effectively with QA staff and all levels of personnel within the company and also with factory personnel.
Ability to develop and build strong working relationships with factory personnel (worker, supervisor, factory manager).
Able to effectively carry the continuous quality improvement message.
Able to effectively manage a staff of QA personnel from a distance.
Able to deal with conflicting priorities.
Computer literate - able to utilize Microsoft Office products.
Possess fluent written and spoken Mandarin and English.
Knowledge/experience of compliance auditing for social, environmental and security.
Desired Education/Training:
A bachelor degree in a related discipline from a recognized educational institution in the textile/apparel field. However, candidates with significant appropriate experience without a bachelor degree will also be considered. 举报 分享

Sam’s sons, Alvin and Lenny, grew up in the business and help transform it into a resource for infant bedding, pram suits and toddler blanket sleepers from the 1950’s to the 1990’s. Over the past decade the company has engaged exclusively in managing infant bedding, bath, sleep n play and layette branding and product solutions for major retailers. While our corporate office is based in United State (White Plains, New York) we are international in how we value our team, our business partners, our customers and the babies, their parents and the care providers who use our products. We have approximately 60 staff employees in the US providing product concept and design, technical and art management, sales management, production planning and execution, sourcing/ costing, finance, IT, and HR administration.

Our Orca operations, which is based in Qingdao, China, was established in 2004 to provide Supply Chain Management, Executive and Services to major retailers in new born and infant products. They are: infant bedding, blankets, bath layette playwear.
