Mission: We are a global leading supplier of automatic door solutions for pedestrian traffic in commercial, health care and transportation applications. With 2300 employees worldwide and a strong end-user approach. We are now expanding the Chinese R & D organization with more senior & junior engineers, project leaders etc and transferring more global projects to china. We are looking for a qualified R&D Manager to leading this team in China.

Responsibilities:

* Product Development of door automation products globally in china including running product development projects and securing technical competence in the projects including global customization

* Test lab for products and product development in china

* R&D interface towards suppliers in China and industrialization of products in china as well as primary contact toward the market & sales organization from R&D

* Responsible for R & D cost center and budget control.

* Develop local process and procedure for product development and product maintenance in China R&D group when it is needed to integrate into the global system

* Responsible for management of R&D group, set up and follow KPI for R&D group and follow up productivity and efficiency measurement

* In charge of technical support to Production and Global Sourcing team as well as sales company in China.

* In charge of communication to different R&D centers of our companies in the world.

Duties & Objectives:

* Building up strong R&D team according to business plan including training

* Perform training for R&D and market organization and support in launching of new products

* Competence build-up of automatic door industry know how for R&D group and other parties

* Running key product development projects as well as customization projects for China and oversea market, fulfill the requirements in terms regarding delivery, project & product cost control, product function, production and product launching.

* Being active part of site management team, involving site development together with the plant manager and the global sourcing manager.

* Acting as local project leader part time for international complex product development projects

Requirement:

* Bachelor degree in engineering science, mechanical and/or electrical background.

* 15 years working experience in R&D group, preferably min 5 years in a manager position.

* Strong proven experience or back ground of manufacturing processes and automation

* Strong proven experience of project management preferably working as project leader for complex projects

* Strong technical competence with rich hands-on experience, strong capability of root cause analysis and problem-solving being very proactive and commercial

* Experience from complex product development of low a medium volume products consisting of motor & drive, control unit & intelligence, mechanical parts and esthetical values

* Good understanding of customer value focus

* Excellent English level, both writing and speaking.

* Good skill on MS office and Solid Works & CAD and PDM systems

* Teamwork spirit with good communication skill

* Ability to travel in China and oversea frequently

* Take an active role with a "hands on" approach in the ongoing and coming projects.

* Being able to work with and lead the local team in an independent way as having reporting Manager overseas.
