Job Responsibilities:
As a Lean Training Manager, on the Sustainable Manufacturing and Sourcing team, you will bring your lean knowledge, instructional design and teaching skills to inform, inspire and ignite Nike and Factory contract manufacturing teams along their Lean journey. You will be a key contributor to improve, pilot, and scale lean training programs on a global level. As an individual contributor and self-starter you will be on point to manage the Lean Manufacturing training program in the China region.
You will play hard as part of the global lean community to ensure sustained learning and support practical application through formal training program delivery. You will participate in Global Lean community events to help build and foster continuing education.
1. Implement Lean Training program in Region
2. Assist in design, development, and language translation of curriculum
3. Deliver trainings to desired and expected standards
4. Manage scheduling, enrollment, evaluations, and costs associated with training program
5. Participate in Lean Community events
6. Coach Nike, Factory teams to support the implementation of a country specific lean manufacturing strategy and implementation plan
7. Liaise with LEDs/Lean Master Coaches in the region and ensure targeted class size is filled as per budget.
8. Solicit regular feedback from Factory Partners, LEDs/Lean Master Coaches to continuously improve programs to desired expectations.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for a proven leader who has the experiences and skills necessary to change the game:
?Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
?A strong foundational lean systems knowledge, education, and experience base gained through a source globally recognized as a ‘lean leader’ in the industry; such as Toyota, Lean Enterprise Institute, Shingijutsu, Danaher, or a similar organization.
?5+ years of practical lean experience leading, influencing, and coaching lean applications within manufacturing and transactional environments. Have a clear understanding of systemic lean transformation across multiple environments and processes.
?5+ years of practical experience of developing and delivering lean training in both a hands-on (GEMBA) and classroom environment.
?Demonstrated ability to apply and teach proven lean techniques such as A3 Thinking, Problem Solving, Kaizen, SMED, Visual Management, including emphasis on worker engagement; and a good story teller
?Demonstrated experience and proven ability to interact and lead effectively across Asian cultures with emphasis on China
?Proven ability to facilitate lean training sessions across organizational boundaries, as both a lead trainer and in a supporting role
?Proven experience in the adoption of technologies as a platform for training and information sharing
?Able to work with high degree of independence while managing upward communication to leadership teams and management
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
?Additional experience within business, engineering, and/or supply chain is strongly preferred.
?Understanding of Nike’s business, culture, and processes
?5+ years’ experience in coaching and consulting, lean community involvement, and the practical application of lean tools and philosophies.
?Expected regional and international travel up to 50%.
