Main responsibility of Home Product Manager is to oversee the Home product business from product development going to production; and up to finished product. The functions are coordination with US product developer and designer in the smooth development processes of current and newly sourced product; sourcing of vendors that are suitable to DECKERS manufacturing standard and ESC/RS – which include manufacturing development; tracking of vendors production commitment and be able to resolve production issues that may cause production interruptions / delays; setting up quality controls in all areas of production ensuring finished products meet DECKERS product quality standard and its product safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Development:
Coordination with US product developer and PLM in ensuring product development will be executed accordingly in terms of sample material/ workmanship / and fit requirements; and delivery on timely manner.
Close coordination with US PD/Designer or involvement in the approval of samples – this includes relaying of comments and other technical instructions to ensure understanding of the vendors.


Production:
Tracking of vendors production commitment and be able to resolve issues that may cause delays. Provides technical assistance to the vendors and introduce quality processes & control.


Sourcing of new manufacturers and develops to Deckers manufacturing standard. Guide and lead vendors to comply with Deckers manufacturing requirement on social compliance ESC.

Guide and lead vendors to comply with Deckers requirement as to product compliance and safety (RS policy) and other safety requirement that maybe required pertaining to Apparel.

Costing:
Responsible for meeting the Brand’s GM 40% target.

QUALIFICATIONS

University / College Graduate with BS in Engineering or BS in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years actual manufacturing experience in Home manufacturing environment; managing product development; production and quality.
At least 5 years technical / relevant experience in Home manufacturing like TOB, Throws, Rugs/Carpets/Pillows/accessories. Outdoor & indoor furniture background is a plus factor.


Thorough knowledge of relevant product types; development; and production processes.
Ability to identify problems independently and completely and to find/implement solutions.
Ability to communicate his/her own points of view in a clear, logically structured and professional way within the team and with internal/external group.
Good product eye.
Must have high moral integrity (can’t be bribed)
Good English communication skills (oral and written).
