JOB PURPOSE
? Sales growth – achieve sales growth in the countries of responsibility in line with the group and division strategy, through pro-active support and collaboration with the sales companies.
? Communication - Effective communication of the division strategy, leading to aligned country growth plans.
? Support - Work closely with the Group and Country Sales Leaders to develop and execute country growth plans ensuring profitable growth targets are achieved.
? Support – accountable for ensuring Divisions action to support country growth plans are executed
? Winmap - Actively engage with the roll out from Winmap activity
? New product introduction – leadership of new product introduction and make good
? Expertise & knowledge - product & market expertise, develop the knowledge of the sales team
MAIN DUTIES
? Increase global sales and market share in line with the corporate, group and division strategy within the designated countries and strategically targeted markets.
? BDM’s are partners of our sales companies and are responsible for the development and growth of sales through the sales companies.
? Key contact between the sales teams, Group Sales leaders and the Division for all new business development and sales related activities.
? BDM sales company support activities include but are not limited to
? Actively visiting/supporting significant customer opportunities – through joint calls or individual calls as agreed with the sales companies
? Communication of Division strategy / organisation
? Product knowledge
? Market / Application knowledge
? Prequalification of prospects in key markets/applications and development of customer action plans with sales companies
? Preparation and execution of new product launch plan
? Develops strong OEM partnerships to win end users specifications.
? Works with the Division/business units to create and execute product launch activity supporting new product growth, coordinate and facilitate training for Sales Company.
? Active engagement with key division and group functions to provide Sales Company feedback along with directions, advice, support and guidance on business issues.
? Tracking & reporting to the Division of opportunities, orders and shipments for the countries of responsibility utilizing Div. pipeline tools and processes. Collect market feedback for the division relating to competition, products, pricing, won / lost enquiries
? identifies training needs of Sales Company and Channel Partners staff to support growth objectives & ensuring needs are met.
? Ensures that the agreed Division actions to support the country growth plans & PFEC
? Is the Division “owner” of the Sales Company growth plan for the each of the countries of responsibility
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
? To profitably grow and develop sales revenue within the defined platform / region.
? Maintenance of growth plan documents and preparation of quarterly update presentations – incorporating both Divisions, Group and Field sales input.
? Develops highly professional relationships within the Sales Companies, to enable active participation in the development of sales growth plans for the Division and group.
? Schedule ‘face to face’ interaction with the Sales Companies GM’s, Sales Managers and Sales Engineers in order to agree on local sales plans for the Division product portfolio
? To maintain, develop, and cultivate professional, strategic relationships with Engineering, R&D, and Procurement departments at OEMs while executing the Division Growth Strategy Deployment.
? Capture success stories and communicate these successes through Design wins.
? Maintain the highest degree of customer service to enable professional & ethical support to the Sales Companies for strategically important customers.
? Actively review sales forecasts for each Country and communicate sales deviations to the Division and provide & support corrective action plans as necessary
? Coordinates commercial agreements in line with firm policy utilising division management and Corporation legal department resources as necessary.
? Work closely with Division Applications team & Division Sales Manager to ensure technical details of the application, customers pain/problem we are solving, our differentiation strategy, value proposition to customer, project timeline and key milestones are fully understood and qualified.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
? Makes recommendations on acceptability of all potential projects & opportunities submitted by the Sales Companies by working with the Division Sales Manager and the Business unit managers
? Take ownership of exception pricing needs to fulfil the needs to capture new / incremental business opportunities with support of Div. Strategic Pricing Manager & Div. Sales Manager.
? Communicate with strategic pricing as required.
? Make significant commercial decisions & recommendations that reflect the intention of the division / group where necessary to support Sales Company growth plans
? Request Division Applications support to drive growth opportunities & Region training needs
JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS
? Mastery of professional knowledge on commercial and salesmanship skills. Ideally 5-10 years of responsibility in at least 2/3 disciplines (management, sales, product management, marketing)
? Degree level education, preferably Engineering/technical. MBA preferred. Ideally attended a portion of schooling in USA.
? Fluency in English – ideally additional languages, for the countries of responsibility
? Comprehensive experience of technical sales, application/value selling and exposure to Life Sciences markets.
? Comprehensive understanding of pneumatics, fluidics, and long, complex OEM design process.
? Excellent MS office and general computer skills
? Has the ability to influence senior staff
? Broad business experience in multi-cultural environment & working for a Western company.
? Working knowledge of Division technology. Awareness of multi-technology capability for recognising cross selling market opportunities.
? 10. Proven team leader with motivational, diplomacy and personality skills to the highest degree
? Must reside in China, ideally at facility in Shanghai or Wuxi
? A minimum of 1 year leading a minimum of 1 direct report with demonstrable results in growth, coaching & developing others, strategy development and deployment preferred. Has ability and skill to assume a manager role of additional APAC BDM’s in the future.
