职位描述
Position Summary:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards for the production of hose fittings and accessories. Contact with outside contractors or vendors when needed and obtain the optimum in tools, parts, and service for the best cost. Effectively communicates with engineering manager regarding the general direction of departmental operations and department projects to assure internal/external customer satisfaction.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Reports to Engineering manager, interacts with QA, Production, Accounting, Planning, external suppliers and customers, etc.
Job Responsibility:
1. Plans, schedules, assign and supervise work of design tooling. Working with process engineers to modify the tooling after testing. Coach, train, and direct personnel to obtain optimum output & results.
2. Based on design specifications from customer needs and application, design the progressive tooling, stage tooling and fixtures, new products. Use FEA to analyze parts design.
3. Provide suggestion to product/process engineer for new product design from tooling design viewpoint.
4. Tooling investment evaluation and cost estimation during tooling feasibility study stage.
5. Define tool material, tooling design from suppliers, approve final tooling design solutions, follow tooling qualification and status according to project timeline.
6. Check the tool modification application and make relative change if necessary to meet product specification after trial run.
7. Support to setup BOM & Routing of new parts in JDE system, analyze the cost of the parts.
8. Support to create manufactory machine routings.
9. Based on design specifications, assess and confirm tooling suppliers' capability to meet quality requirements in order to ensure the supply quality.
10. Periodically review product configuration and production, work out quality improvement and cost reduction solution.
11. Prepare and provide tooling data in order to ensure the completeness of tooling related records.
12. Prepares documents and presents results to internal and external customers. Determines required actions, performs or directs completion of tasks, and publishes findings and/or results.
Qualifications:
1. BS Degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent degree;
2. 5+ years engineering experience, minimum 3 years of precise progressive stamping die design, experience on beryllium copper finger stock, shielding can or terminal is a plus.
3. Good knowledge of material performance of BeCu,SUS301/304,CRS, Nickel Silver, Copper alloy…
4. Proficient in AutoCAD and Pro E, FEA, Cost analysis;
5. Good knowledge of CNC, CNC programming;
6. Capability to provide solution/suggestion for new progressive tooling, stage tooling and fixtures;
7. Strong computer skills required to efficiently utilize MS Office and Lotus Notes;
8. Good command of English understanding both in writing and speaking;
