Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the SATA manufacturing plant to maximize its profitable growth and return on investment. Plan, organize and control the activities of the facility/operating unit so as to optimize the utilization of all resources. Participates in the formulation of overall Asia’s manufacturing objectives, policies and plans. Manages production output of USD180m, with approximately 1200 employees.
Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the Operations team to formulate the facility’s long-term and short-term objectives consistent with and supportive of established corporate objectives and policies.
2. Developing operating plans to include profitability plans, volume plans, capital and other expense budgets for achieving overall Hand Tools’ objectives.
3. Ensure organizational framework or strategy which is consistent with established objectives of Hand Tools business and operating effectively and efficiently to support the overall Asia’s growth
4. Reviewing the activities and results of operations to assure progress towards the attainment of the goals set for the various products.
5. Build and develop the management team that will support the SATA Hand Tools business to ensure continuity of effective management in order to be able to meet long and short-term human resource needs.
6. Stimulating and encouraging innovations in product development, engineering, and technology ensuring continued viability and profitability of the products within the geography, and achieve an efficient and effective lean manufacturing environment.
7. Assessing the business implications and potential of identified marketing, legislative and financial trends in current and future operations of the facility.
Measures of Performance
1. Financial results including Productivity, Inventory Management, Accounts Receivable, Net Profit, Return on Investment and variance from operating budgets.
2. Manpower development results including promotions, inter-company transfers and upgrading of its human resources and attainment of its Goals and Results.
3. Successful attainment of Corporate/Divisional/Facility non-financial objectives.
Key Competencies
1. Preferably MBA, and degree major in mechanical engineering
2. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, prior experience in leading major transformation within manufacturing environment
3. Broad-gauge knowledge of the marketing, production and financial controls
4. Knowledge of international economics, finance and financial analysis and money markets.
5. Knowledge of advantages and pitfalls in sourcing, manufacturing, competition, acquisition and product transfers
6. Understanding of human relations and behavioral concepts. Demonstrated skill in assessing personnel and developing subordinates.
7. Demonstrated skill in planning operations of large scale, multiproduct business.
8. Solid hands-on and successful experiences in general management in multinational operations in China
9. Ability to communicate at all levels in and outside the organization.
